The door opened and Jaden lit up when Fern walked out. She closed the door behind her.
I wondered where Hati was or if he needed a nap. Did mythological beings need naps? I didn’t stay around Hel and Garmr enough to know. I thought I remembered old myths about people and creatures napping. Why was my mind wandering again?
Unlike before, Fern wore her hair loose around her shoulders instead of in a braid. I saw there were now white and blue streaks in it, matching Hati’s hair. I wondered at that. Could it just be that ex-mythological beings had a different way of marking? Did it have significance?
