Aitana's POV
It's done, finally. The food has arrived, the guest rooms are clean, I gave the list to the patrol guard, and I can finally leave. I had to thank my scar for that; if Luna didn’t find it disgusting, I wouldn’t have any free time.
She would probably tell me to stay and serve everyone drinks.
Yep, it is better if I leave and nobody can find me.
I quickly grabbed a small bag and went outside to the lake. It was outside the pack house, and thankfully, several trees covered it, so I had some privacy.
I don’t have the privilege of a bathroom, and I doubt they will give me a room. I will most likely sleep in another closet like in my home, but I couldn’t care less.
All I wanted was to gain my wolf and get the f**k out. I still remember that I have an inheritance, but I wish I could do more.
I am alone and don’t have access to anything, not even a phone.
Unless my only friend lends me hers, but I don't want to get her into trouble. I avoid her now, so the Luna won't find out about her and make her life a living hell.
Of course, my mom doesn’t know about it. I thought the Elder would tell her, but since he didn’t, I took that to my advantage.
I stared at the sun as it hid behind the trees and welcomed the moonlight.
The music was playing at the house, and I could hear people cheering, meaning Tristan must have arrived.
“Finally, some peace and quiet,” I murmured as I started undressing myself. I got inside the lake and enjoyed the water.
It was always the perfect temperature because it came from a hot spring and mixed with the water running down the mountain. I mean, I am a wolf; I won’t get hypothermia unless I stay under the water for an hour or more, but I still enjoyed a warm bath.
I was not in a hurry, so I took my time to lather the soap all over my hair and skin. I enjoyed these few moments because I felt beautiful. I couldn’t look at my scar; all I could see was the night sky and the moon reflecting on the lake.
“Am I going to be happy one day, Moon Goddess?” I asked as I looked at the reflection of the moon.
Of course, she couldn’t reply to me, but it was like my therapy. I finished cleaning myself and got out. It was already midnight, and I had to sleep. Otherwise, I would be tired tomorrow, and doing the housework of a dozen people while sleep-deprived was not something I looked forward to.
I got dressed in my old, baggy clothes and walked back to the house when I heard a gasp.
No, please no, I only wanted some peace. Is that too much to ask?
When I turned around, I met a set of eyes that seemed familiar. Those dark brown eyes were the same as the Alpha’s, which could only mean one thing…
“You are my mate?!” He spat in disgust as his eyes traveled to my scar.
I had to stop myself from moving my hand to that area. I only stared at him straight in the eye with my head held high.
He was not going to make me feel insecure.
Tristan was a combination of the Alpha and Luna. He had light brown hair ruffled over his head as if he had run his fingers several times. He was very tall, but considering I am 5,4, I’m not surprised.
Everyone is taller than I am.
However, I believe he must be around 6,8 or 6,9, meaning he could easily tower over me.
I should be excited, I found my mate, but I am not because this can only mean one thing…
My life is going to become a living hell.
He stomped his way to me and grabbed my chin harshly. His brown eyes turned dark, meaning his wolf was there.
I felt something moving inside me, but I must be going crazy. I’m only sixteen, my wolf won’t wake up until I turn eighteen.
I looked at his face and realized how different it was from mine. He had creamy white skin, and small freckles dotted his face. He also had plump lips that looked very kissable, although I knew that would never happen.
I decided to focus on his eyes and wait for the inevitable. They scanned me from head to toe until they reached my scar and scoffed.
“Disgusting, I could never be with someone like you,” He said, and I avoided flinching at his hard words.
He won’t get what he wants from me. I won’t cry, I won’t say a thing. If he deems me unworthy because of my physical appearance, then he doesn’t deserve me as his mate.
He finally let go of my chin. I waited for him to utter those words, and finally he did. However, I noticed hesitation before he said it.
No, I must be going crazy. I’m sure that is what happened.
Hesitation? Am I crazy? He hates me.
Everyone hates me.
“I, Tristan Ryder Davis, Alpha of Silver Lake Pack, reject you, Aitana Johnson Emerson, as my mate and Luna,” Tristan exclaimed, but for some reason... his rejection didn’t hurt.
I stared at him blankly, which only made him madder.
“Accept my rejection, you stupid omega!” He screamed in my face while he yanked me by my hair.
I didn’t emit a sound, I didn’t cry for help or whine. I was used to it.
Pain was a daily friend, one I mastered.
“I, Aitana Johnson Emerson, accept your rejection, Tristan Ryder Davis, as my mate.” Done, with that, our bond should be severed, but nothing happened.
I didn’t feel any pain, he didn’t feel any pain, which meant something must be wrong. Even if I am not of age, I should still be able to reject him, right?
“What the f**k did you do?” He pulled my hair, making me hiss from the pain.
“I accepted your rejection,” I replied through gritted teeth to his stupid face.
“No, you didn’t! We are still bonded!” He screamed angrily. “You must have done something, but believe me, Omega, when I tell you I will make your life a living hell because of this!” He seethed and left.
What the f**k was that? I didn't do anything!
The worst part is that I knew he would keep his promise, and I had no idea why his rejection didn’t work.
The other thing was… as I returned to the pack house, I felt like someone was watching me.

Almost 2 years later…
—————————————————————
“Aitana!” The Luna screamed as if I weren’t in the same f*****g house, I was only peeling the vegetables for tonight’s dinner.
Tristan chose a Luna. He waited to see if we could reject each other, but even though we tried, we still couldn’t.
I suggested we wait until I turned eighteen, then I could ask my wolf, but apparently, he is too impatient to make Tina his Luna, the Beta’s daughter, and so today, they will announce his decision at a huge event.
They couldn’t wait two f*****g months.
Of course, I am doing all the cooking without any help, if I may add.
“Yes?” I said as I stood up and walked to where she was.
“Insolent brat,” she mumbled as I didn’t refer to her as Luna. “I need you to set the tables and make the flower arrangements for the event,” she ordered.
“Do I look like a florist to you?” I snapped.
Oh, yes, I no longer hold my tongue. I’m sick and tired of this pack, and I will leave as soon as I gain my wolf, so why should I respect them?
Marie looked like she was about to burst. It was funny to look at her so angry.
I’m getting feistier by the day, and I think that is because I’m going to gain my wolf soon.
“You will do as I say!” She lifted her hand to hit me, but then she remembered she had invited some Alphas from neighboring packs, and they couldn’t see a mark on me.
They could, but it would be hard to explain. The Elders stopped coming to ask me questions after Matías visit, and that made Luna Marie bolder.
The problem was, I had grown bolder too.
“Or what?” I spat and glared at her. “You are going to hit me? You hit like a b***h because you don’t train.”
“Aitana!” Perfect, now comes the stupid Alpha. “You do not treat your Luna like that!” He roared.
He sounds like a dog instead of a wolf.
“She is not my Luna,” I said as I glared at Marie. “And you are not my Alpha.”
Was I pushing my luck? Yes
Was I going to stop? No way in hell.
Was I going to get hit? Probably.
Did I care? No, as I said, they hit like a b***h.
I saw how his jaw ticked. Alpha Ismael hated it when people talked back, and unfortunately for him, I didn’t know when to keep my mouth shut.
“You will not attend the reunion, meaning you will not eat today. Go to your room,” he ordered. I only rolled my eyes at his stupid punishment.
I never had food to eat. The times I did, it was because there were leftovers, but that was it. Sometimes, I find food in my room, but I have no idea who left it.
Ugh, whatever, I should leave and get some rest. They are going to call me anyway after they realize they can’t cook.
However, before I left, a man who resembled Tristan came in. He had black, long hair and red, hunting eyes.
Goddess. Who is this God? .
“Good evening, mother.” Wait… that isn’t Tristan. Who is he?
Why did he call Luna Marie mother?
