Bob's action stupefied everyone.
Ordinary students they might be, but they could tell from Paul's speech and attitude that Bob was a bigshot in Wimborne.
Yet, the bigshot in the room was humbling himself to plead for forgiveness from Simon.
It was all because he had trusted Paul and doubted Simon!
His fleshy face was sweating like rain; anyone could see that he was frightened.
Who on earth was Simon Floyd?
"Heidi, I wore these shoes because they were a gift from you, not because I can't afford something else. They were precious to me, even if they were cheap sh*t worth like $20."
Simon sighed.
Undoubtedly he was poor but that was the real reason.
He just did not expect Heidi to change.
No, perhaps, she had just never shown her true self until now.
"Tsk. Mr. Floyd can have anything and anyone he wants. He's just been keeping it low-profile so you don't feel pressured."
Katya let out a snort.
Simon was speechless.
The way Katya put it, even he had the illusion that he had been keeping his wealth a secret and fooling everyone all along.
The truth was, he used to be a broke-a*s and nothing more.
But Katya the Drama Queen made him look really good!
"No way... You're joking..."
Heidi's eyes looked dim and out of focus as she muttered to herself.
Just the thought that Simon might really be a rich kid, and a crazy rich kid at that, made her feel like fainting. She had stayed with him for so long, only to dump him for someone less rich?
No, she thought, Simon could never be rich!
Out of everyone in the private lounge, she was the one who least wanted Simon to be rich.
Then, out of nowhere, she received a slap across the face.
Paul had slapped her so hard that she fell to the floor.
"Shut up! It's your fault, you w***e!"
Paul was panicking. He felt like he had ruined things for his father.
Speak of the Devil and he shall come.
His phone rang. He glanced at the display: it was his father! His expression changed. With a bewildered expression, he shot a quick look at Simon before accepting the call.
He hoped that the call was not because of Simon.
But his hope was not answered.
"You little prick! Who did you offend? It's all because of you! Our family is going bankrupt because of you! If you know who it is, go and beg them for forgiveness! Tell them to let us off, spare our lives at least."
Over the line, Paul's father sounded both furious and sorrowful.
His phone was in speaker mode, so everyone heard the conversation. They looked conflicted. They were so shocked that they were numb.
Shocked, he dropped his top-of-the-line phone on the floor. His father continued to call for him over the line.
The Fosters were not filthy rich but they had a considerable net worth of $20 million. Yet, they were forced to near bankruptcy in just a few minutes.
What the hell was with Simon's background?
He looked at Simon with a wry expression. Had he known this would happen, he would not even dare to entertain Heidi's advances.
He was dead; six feet in the ground and all that. He was nothing.
Heidi was on the floor, clutching her cheek and not daring to speak. No matter how much she could not accept it, the facts were there: Simon Floyd was a crazy rich kid.
Paul did not hesitate for long.
With a tearful face, he headed for the door and threw himself at Simon.
"Floyd, no, Mr. Floyd. Please, I beg you. Please spare me and my father."
Tears and snot streamed down his face.
"Jeez, don't dirty my hipster village boy pants."
The minute the look of disgust appeared on Simon's face, several of his bodyguards appeared and pulled Paul aside.
"You have to understand. It's too late to apologize to me now. Remember what I told you when I came in? I gave you a chance."
Simon watched as Paul, who had always been high and mighty, kneel down and beg for his forgiveness. His mood was calm but he felt the urge to laugh. "Revenge is a must, but the time has not come yet."
"No, Mr. Floyd. I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I will give you back your woman. Blame it on me. I won't do it again."
Paul howled and begged through tears. He grabbed Heidi and pulled her over without consideration for her well-being in the slightest.
Heidi was still absent-minded and bewildered when his action ripped a part of her clothes, exposing quite a bit of her fair skin.
However, not only was she not upset at Paul's words, but she was even a little excited. She looked at Simon in anticipation.
"Tsk. What do you take me for? A junk collector?"
Simon rolled his eyes. He did not even spare Heidi's exposed skin a glance. It would just dirty his eyes.
He used to love Heidi but the old him who loved her had died after being humiliated, beaten up, and chased out of the lounge.
"Simon Floyd!"
Heidi's face was pale. She was so mad that she was trembling.
How could this happen? Shouldn't Simon be over the moon that she was willing to go back to him? Shouldn't he continue to pamper her like he used to?
Simon was silent for a while before saying, "I will spare you if you become my lackey."
Surprised gasps came from the crowd.
Paul's face turned dark and grim. For a long time, he did not speak.
"I gather that you don't want to. Fine, I won't force you. I will get going then."
Simon turned around to leave.
"Wait... Wait a minute."
It looked as though Paul had used up all the strength inside him. "I do. I will do it."
Simon could not believe it.
Those words felt strange somehow.
"Watch your back."
This time, he turned around and walked out. He had been full of hatred earlier but now that Paul's father had been driven to bankruptcy, there was no point going too far.
Heidi was still paralyzed on the floor. Katya cast her a disdainful look. She did not think highly of the woman who had abandoned her master.
"Mr. Floyd, we should leave and get you changed out of your clothes. It's time to go back to where you belong. I will give you a massage tonight to relieve your stress."
The foreign woman who had been aloof in front of everyone was now holding Simon by the arm. Her words were sweet, gentle, and seductive.
She turned her head to the rest inside the lounge. "Mr. Floyd will be footing the bill tonight."
The dozens of bodyguards her out in silence.
Seeing that the matter was over, Bob immediately went after Simon and tried to get acquainted with him. The security guards of Rock Box left as well.
The packed lounge swiftly became deserted.
It felt as if a storm had just passed through the place.
Keith, who had been sitting in a corner all along, let out a sigh after seeing Simon leave.
His fellow roommates, Victor and Lance, looked like they had suffered a hit. They hoped that Simon would not return to the dorm anymore.
The other classmates were staring at Simon as he left too, all harboring different thoughts.
"Man, that loser is going to die of happiness tonight. That foreign woman is just a hottie. She looks like Audrey Hepburn."
"Drop it. Jealousy doesn't look pretty on anyone. And stop calling him names too. If he's a loser, what does that make you?"
"B*tch, what are you saying? Wanna fight?"
"Did I f*cking stutter?"
"Enough! Stop arguing!"
Their class rep, Matthew, shouted at the crowd that looked like they were about to start a fight.
He was full of regret. He should not have been so focused on befriending the rich kid Paul. It was truly beyond his and everyone else's expectations that their class loser would be the truly rich one.
What a big, big loss. He felt incredibly dispirited.
"Paul..."
Heidi went forth and carefully helped Paul back to his feet. A bird in hand was worth two in the bush. Even if Paul's family was going bankrupt, he was still much richer compared to her.
"F*ck off! It's your fault for hitting on me, you w***e!"
Grim-faced, Paul shoved her aside.
"Paul Foster, all you do is lash out at women! What kind of man are you?"
Heidi was also furious after getting hit twice.
She threw herself at Paul after screaming, wanting to scratch his face.
The two of them got into a grapple—a complete one-eighty from their intimacy as a cheating couple earlier.
The others were quick to separate them both.
Having watched Simon and his entourage disappear at the end of the corridor, everyone looked conflicted and envious. They also felt afraid that Simon would retaliate, taking revenge for their bad deeds against him.
Unlike Paul, they did not have rich families that could be bankrupted. If anything were to happen to them, it would game over for them and their families.
Several minutes later, Paul walked out in silence.
Heidi was too ashamed to stay and the rest did not have the mood to fool around after everything that had happened. They agreed to leave for the night.
When Simon walked out of Rock Box, it was his second time leaving the place for the night, but under different circumstances and with different feelings. It seemed that change was truly the only constant in life.
The first time, he had left with his tail between his legs after getting beaten up. He left by himself and hid amongst the lively crowd.
But this time, he walked out coolly with a bunch of men behind him. Even the manager of the place was seeing him out and bidding him farewell.
This scene caused many passersby to exclaim in admiration and many committed the appearance of the mysterious young man to memory. They knew better than to provoke him!
