Chapter 6 Goldenleaf Residences

1441 Words
The Bentley disappeared down the road with four 7-seater BMWs behind it. The fleet eventually arrived at Goldenleaf Residences, the most luxurious neighborhood in Wimborne. The security guards at the gate did not dare to stop them at all. They respectfully saluted the fleet and opened the gate for them. The cars stopped at Villa One, a villa located halfway up the mountain at the heart of Goldenleaf Residences. Upon leaving Rock Box, Katya had informed Simon that he had a transitory home in Wimborne. Simon knew that he would just make his roommates awkward by returning to the dorm tonight, so he decided to check out his makeshift home. Villa One was not located far from campus. The villa was located at the midpoint of the mountain and through the car window, he could see the lights that lit up the Wimborne skyline. Here, he could see nearly all of Wimborne. He stared out the window in a daze, marveling over the wonderful life of the rich. Katya got out of the car and swiftly made her way to the other side. Before he could do anything, she had already opened the car door and placed a hand on the top of the door frame. "This way please, Mr. Floyd." Her actions caught Simon off guard and he showed her a sheepish smile. He had not gotten used to such spectacle. "Don't do this anymore, Katya. My hands and legs work just fine. I can get out of the car myself." "But..." Katya wanted to refute him. "No buts. That's an order." Simon knew what she wanted to say, so he cut her off decisively. "Yes, sir." Katya opened her mouth but eventually swallowed her protests. They entered Villa One. The interior of the villa was so lavish that Simon had no words to describe it. One could not even begin to estimate the net worth of a person who could own the best mountain villa in the most luxurious neighborhood in Wimborne. It had been such an action-packed day that Simon was feeling pretty drowsy. He had a soak in a massive, AI-operated intelligent bath and then went to bed in high spirits. The bed was so soft and comfortable that he imagined that this must be what lying in clouds was like. It even smelled nice. He meddled with his phone for a bit and found that his classmates were talking about him in their group chat. Quite a few messaged him privately, wanting to get on his good side. He glanced at their messages and sneered. These people never cared about him when he was poor but they were sure eager to butter him up now. Since the semester started, no one had ever messaged him and chatted with him in private. They just looked like clowns to him now. How disgusting. Simon tossed his phone aside, allowing it to charge, and stretched his body. Then, he lay on his stomach on the bed and turned on the television. Just as he was about to drift to sleep, the door opened quietly. Someone approached him while he was sleepy and relaxed. A fair hand fell on his shoulder and stroked his neck. He jerked awake at that numbing sensation. Realizing that someone was behind him, his first instinct was to roll aside and dodge. It did not work as well as he had hoped. When he rolled over, he ended up knocking the person behind him off balance. The person fell straight on top of him. "Umpf..." Simon had his face pressed on the bed, making it hard for him to breathe. He began to struggle. "Oh my God, I'm so sorry, Mr. Floyd. It was an accident." Red-faced, Katya immediately got up from him. Simon inhaled greedily, drawing in large amounts of fresh air into his lungs. He glanced at the woman sitting beside him and asked in confusion, "What are you doing here?" Katya's face was still pink. She began to mutter to herself. "Um, remember what I said..." Her voice was so soft that it was barely audible. Simon was stunned for a second. So, that was why she had come. He felt a trace of disappointment. Remembering what she had said outside Rock Box, he smiled wryly. "I thought you were just joking. It's okay, you can go to bed. I'm sleepy too. Let's call it a night." He was pretty nervous when he said this. He was still an innocent young man, after all! He had no idea what to do in this situation! "I see..." Katya nodded. She got up and left the room. She left so decisively that she even closed the door behind her. "What the heck?" Simon stared at the closed door and empty room in bewilderment. She was gone? Just like that? When she was around, he felt nervous and bashful. But when she was gone, he felt a little empty on the inside instead. He smacked his lips and patted himself down there. "Behave yourself. Come on. Let's go for a cold shower." After he got out of the shower, he returned to bed and fell into a heavy sleep. Dawn, the next day. "Mr. Floyd, time to get up." It was a soft voice that woke Simon up from his sleep. He opened his eyes to see Katya's pretty face. He gulped. What a treat it was to have such a beautiful woman waking him up in the morning! There was an important lecture waiting for him this morning. Once he had his breakfast under the servants' watchful care, Katya drove him to campus. He had just arrived at the Humanities building when he ran into someone that disgusted him. "Floyd? Tsk, you're pretty early today. Well, good timing I suppose. Go and get me some breakfast." It was the tall and strong member of the university basketball team and president of the student union, Tim Bates. He was also a junior in the School of Communication. He had a nasty habit of ordering Simon around and sending him on errands. "F*ck off." Simon was pretty confident in himself now. It was especially true when Katya and her car were still around. "What the hell? What's gotten into you today? How dare you talk to me like that." Tim scratched his ear in disbelief. Then, he grabbed Simon by the collar. But before he could beat Simon up, someone charged at him from the side and kicked him down. Tim's arrogant expression was frozen on his face and all he could hear was buzzing noises in his head. "Mr. Floyd, are you okay?" Katya rubbed Simon's arm nervously. "I'm fine. He didn't manage to do anything to me." Simon felt dumbstruck. Tim crawled to his feet, his head still buzzing, and looked at the beautiful foreign woman beside Simon. What the hell was going on? But no one offered him an explanation and Simon was already walking away. He did not dare go after Simon because that foreign woman, who seemed like such a skilled fighter, was still around. He decided to give it some time before getting even with Simon. But shortly after this little episode, he was summoned by the deputy dean and admonished. What a pitiful kid he was. When Simon entered the lecture hall, immediate silence fell over everyone. Everyone turned to look at him. His eyes swept the lecture hall and noticed that Paul and Heidi were not in. He shrugged, unperturbed, and sat down for class. He ran into them after lunch but their expressions were grim. They secretly walked away, avoiding him. There was another class in the afternoon, and halfway through it, he went out for a washroom break. When he came out of the washroom, he ran straight into a soft body. "Ouch." It was a sweet, fakely so, voice groaning in pain. Dixie Rhodes? His classmate? He was taken aback and helped her up with an apologetic expression. "Sorry, I didn't see you there." Once he steadied her footing, he prepared to leave. However, Dixie grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into the washroom. She forced him into one of the compartments. Simon was utterly befuddled. On the inside, he was howling at how weak he was. He could not believe that even a woman could pull and push him around. It seemed that he had to get Katya and the other servants to help with his nutrition and workout. "Dixie, what are you doing? Hey..." Before he could finish his sentence, Dixie kissed him on the lips. His eyes widened in shock.
