Seeing that Cyrilla no longer caused a fuss or showed any signs of defiance, she was finally permitted to return to the office. Unlike a few days earlier, when she had tried to lock me in and escape, her demeanor was now noticeably more subdued.
Knowing she's both clever and stubborn, I had fully anticipated that she would do something like that. Honestly, I'd be disappointed if she didn't. If I had been an ordinary human, she might have succeeded. However, she did not account for my speed and the fact that I always keep the room keys with me.
I couldn’t even be angry at her stubbornness, especially when I saw the look of surprise in her eyes as I swiftly freed myself and caught up to her. It took everything in me not to burst out laughing.
