“We found something concerning on the border,” I state to Samantha.
Those green eyes gaze up at me with concern. She has her arms around Kade protectively as he lies contentedly on the bed watching a cartoon. I hate to break up the moment.
“What did you find?” She asks with a tilt of her head.
Kade smiles at me, “Hi, Daddy.”
“Hi, Buddy,” I return the smile.
I had been woken up by Eddie earlier. He and Everett had been investigating the area where Samantha and I were attacked. They found some strange smells and sights, so I went there to see what they found.
“Hey, Holden,” Dr. Banks wanders in. “Okay, you are free to go, Luna,” she hands Samantha some paperwork and turns to me. “She’s free to go. Just make sure she takes it easy. Maybe, but chill at home for a day or so.”
