“Mommy!” Kade calls me as I run through a dark corridor, looking for him. “Mommy!”
“Kade!” I shout as the hall seems only to get longer and darker. “Kade!” I scream frantically.
“Mommy!” He calls again.
My heart is pounding as I am desperate to find my son. “Kade!” I cry desperately. I look ahead to see a shadow moving towards me. “Kade!” I call desperately.
“I am not Kade,” the shadow responds. It manifests into a ghostly image.
“You are the one I saw in the woods,” I mutter.
He reaches his hand towards me, and I scream.
I scream myself awake and sit up in bed, waking Holden. He is in a chair beside the bed.
“Samantha?” He asks.
My heart pounds hard against my chest.
“What’s wrong?” He asks.
I shake my head and lie back down. Two nurses run into the room.
