“Simon,” She mutters softly before blacking out in my arms.
“Samantha,” I shout and hold her close. It is then that I see the gaping wound on her side. I press my hand to it, and she groans. “Sorry,” I say. I hear footsteps approaching me and look up to see Eddie with some warriors running up.
“Holden,” He shouts and kneels in front of me, “Shit.” He looks down at Samantha, pulls off his shirt, and hands it to me.
I press the shirt on the wound.
“The medics are on their way,” Everett Cooper shouts. “What happened?”
“Two rogues ambushed us,” I say. “I told her to run,” I look down at my mate. Tears well up as I try to keep my composure as she is bleeding in my arms. “She-she came back,” I sniffle.
