It has been a couple of weeks since the championship game, and I still feel proud when I think about it. Watching Jaxon out there on the ice, playing his heart out, made me realize how far we’ve both come. He gave everything he had, and even though it was hard, he pulled through for his team. The look on his face when they won will stay with me forever. I had never seen him so happy, so full of life. I’m proud to be his girlfriend, not just because he’s a champion but because of the person he is off the ice.
The team has been celebrating all the time. I kept myself busy with all the little things that came after the game. Media requests, meetings, phone calls, and a lot of planning. It feels good to help him, to make sure he’s protected, to be part of the career he’s worked so
