The last thing I remember was turning around with Aurelia in my arms, only to be knocked in the head by the rebel leader. For such a tiny little thing she sure was ruthless.
I woke up in one of the tents with Hunter and Jaxson looming over me.
They didn't have to say anything because I could tell from the look on their face that they were worried sick about our mate.
I let my pack down. I should have been able to protect Aurelia, but I failed. That guilt would eat me alive if we didn't find her.
I tried to get out of bed for the hundredth time, needing to search for Aurelia, but Hunter put a hand on my chest, preventing me from getting up.
