Aurelia I awoke to the sound of arguing. At least two female voices were talking agitatedly, but my head was too dizzy to piece together what was said. I felt like I had been run over by a bus because my entire body ached. A groan slipped from my lips when I tried to open my eyes, but they were dry and glued shut, refusing to cooperate. I lifted my heavy arm and rubbed my hand over my eyes to encourage them to open. What happened? Why did I feel like death was knocking at my door?
