She woke up and got out of bed, got herself dressed and left the pack in her car. The sun was barely even on the horizon. But it was an hour to the city, and she could stop and get breakfast on the way. If she was hungry, that was; she didn’t feel hungry at all, and she’d not even had dinner. The gate guard had raised an eyebrow at her parked in her car at that gate at the c***k of dawn. She’d stated, “Please open the gate, I have to go into the city and pick up a new phone, among other things,” “Nothing will be open at this hour,” he’d responded. “I don’t really care, open the gate.” She’d muttered, and he’d nodded finally, and the gate had swung open.
