Caden’s POV
Mom saw me coming. I had to strain to hear what she was saying, but she was trying to encourage not just Parker, but me as well, to really think about giving this a shot. I didn’t need the encouragement. I was all in; I just needed to convince Parker that I was ready to commit to her.
I glanced at Parker to make sure that she wasn’t going to cry again. She has had an emotional day. I’ve learned that when Nolan pushes her too hard, she has nightmares. We won’t have Caleb here as a buffer this time around. It will just be the two of us. I can control myself, but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I wanted to hold her in my arms again. To make sure that she knows that no matter what happens, I'll be there for her.
