Caden’s POV
Parker was much quieter when she came back downstairs. I knew what she was thinking, and I was thinking the same thing. Our staying here together could make the local gossip mills lose their minds. Mom and Dad had gone above and beyond with what they had to do. The fridge in the kitchen was full. The roasts took up a great deal of space, but Mom had made sure that we had plenty of food. She knew I didn't want to leave Parker here any longer than I had to for work.
Dad mentioned we needed to get a TV, and Caleb agreed right away. I'm sure Dad was thinking about the game on Sunday; he liked to watch, as did my brothers.
