Caden’s POV
I was excited to get to Parker tonight. I couldn’t wait to move her into her new home. I felt a lot better about her moving, as I had a gut feeling that she wasn’t safe at Brook’s lake house anymore. Cassidy was giving me the cold shoulder today at work, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that I told Parker I would be at her home at six. We close the clinic at five-thirty, but I plan on being out the door soon. The last patient left ten minutes ago, and no one else was expected. I needed to get something done before I left.
“It’s five-fifteen, Keely. You can go ahead and leave if everything is closed out,” I told her.
“Thanks, Caden,” she said as she gathered her coat and purse. Things had been tense today, so she was ready to get out of here. I shut off
