“Ma, can I stay here tonight?” Samantha asked Margarita. They were resting in the living room after they arrived from meeting Atty. Lorenzana.
“Sure! But Kendrick, does he know that you will be staying here?” Margarita asked her back. She sensed something off with Samantha's behavior recently but she wanted her to tell herself.
“No! I don't need to tell him. He doesn't care anyway,” Samantha replied, averting her stares.
“Sam, if there is something happening between you and Kendrick, please tell me. I am always here to listen and if you need a shoulder to cry on. I'm here! I don't want to see you struggling,” Margarita tried to convince her to share whatever she was going through.
“Ma, does love fade?” Samantha asked subconsciously. Too late for her to realize what she was asking.
