Once we were dressed Elijah and I followed Zaniyah back into the woods. We walked in silence back to her house. There was a bruised aching in my core that had me biting my lower lip as I thought about what had taken place in that stream just moments ago. I caught Elijah’s eyes and he grinned at me.
