Lara The next morning when I awoke, I thought about the night before. My surprise birthday party. The conversation I had had with Elijah. I knew that there were changes that were going to need to be made. If I was going to have the freedom and the privacy to get to know Elijah better than I was going to need to make sure that I had the perfect opportunity to do that. I got out of bed and had a shower, then got dressed to face the day. Walking downstairs I could hear my dad and Heidi in the kitchen talking quietly. “So… last night seemed like a success. You did a good job planning that birthday party for her. I think Lara really enjoyed herself,” my father said. “Yeah, she seemed to be having a good time. It’s a shame she didn’t meet her mate though,” Heidi replied, sounding disappointed
