I figured that Heidi needed to get out of the house. She needed some air. So, looking at her, I said, “Look, you need to get out of here for a while. Why don’t we take a walk?”
Heidi looked at me and replied, “Go for a walk where?”
“Anywhere. You need to get out of here and I think some fresh air will do you a lot of good,” I told her.
Heidi was quiet for a moment, but then she looked at me and nodded her head. “Okay, let’s get out of here,” she said quietly.
We stood up and made our way out of her bedroom and down the staircase. As soon as we reached the bottom of the staircase, I saw my father standing in the living room. As soon as he saw us, he started walking towards us. I held my hand up motioning for him to stop. He stopped midstride, looking at me in surprise.
