Tears fill my eyes. I glance up, returning to reality, and realize Nicholas is crouched beside me, his hand on my cheek.
"Apphia, please talk to me," Nicholas begs.
"The moon goddess visited me when I was in the hospital, the night before I woke up from the coma, and told me I was a marked wolf. However, I forgot all about it until now," I explain, wiping my tears.
"She said I was born weak and was supposed to die, but my mom prayed to her relentlessly to return me to health. As if it wasn't enough, Mom sacrificed her life to save me years later during the attack on us."
