Cyril’s POV The door shut behind me harder than I meant to. The sound echoed down the hall, and for a moment, I just stood there, breathing heavily. My hands were clenched so tightly that my knuckles ached. I didn’t want to hear her voice anymore. Every word out of her mouth sounded like a lie. The way she said my name, the way her eyes looked at me like I was the one who didn’t understand. I had tried. I had given her a chance to earn my trust, to start over, but she went and did this.
