"Who is calling you?" Cindy asked, seeing that Peter looked so nervous and hesitated to answer the call in his hand.
"My mother," Peter replied nervously, contemplating whether to answer. He knew part of the reason he had turned off his phone was that he was avoiding her calls.
"Go on, answer her call," Cindy urged, wondering if the caller was truly Peter's mother or one of the wealthy women who had been asking him out on dates.
"Hello, Mom," Peter finally answered his mother's call, noting that the time was past 8 PM.
