I dig out my vibrating phone from my pocket and look at the screen. It’s a new number. I tap the ignore button and hold it in my hands then look at Lexi.
“You ain’t going to pick that?”
“Nope. Not a fan of new numbers.” We are almost done with Lorrah. I have a feeling that her and Lexi don’t like each other but she won’t mess it for me.
My phone vibrates again and this time round, I tap the answer icon and press it on my ear.
“Clayton speaking.”
“Good morning Mr. Clayton. This is doctor Noel calling from St. Teresa hospital.”
“Doctor? Hospital? Is everything okay?” I look at Lexi who puts a hand on my lap and gives it a squeeze.
“There has been an accident. I’m sorry sir.”
“An accident? What are you talking about? Just go straight to the point.”
