Regardless of how troublesome and difficult position Auriane had put herself in, she obviously knew that there was no escape route for her. She could only resign to fate and take the first step.
Basically speaking, she thought that it wasn't a bad idea that she spilled the beans either, if not her sister would never be able to know why she ended up with such a fate. Even if she had doubts about Cindy, it would merely end up with her speculations.
But she would never imagine that Cindy could go to the length of causing her to be gang r***d, though she fortunately escaped being gang r***d and had her innocence taken by a stranger.
Besides, in her past life, Nora died without knowing the truth, but in this life she survived and only by knowing the truth would she be more wary of her enemies and be able to save herself.
Auriane surely knew she couldn't protect Nora all the time, and at her age it wouldn't be appropriate either. Even if her mental age was above twenties, her current age now was still thirteen, so she was still a child who shouldn't be aware of the sensual life of the adults.
Auriane sighed and continued.
"I happened to chanced upon Cindy's room, the door was left ajar. Out of curiosity I picked through the door and heard Cindy telling aunt how she had plotted against you to be gang r***d. She fed you with drugs and caused you to be weak, she wanted you to stay conscious and watch your body being molested and tainted without an ounce of strength to defend yourself. However, her plans backfired and the people she originally paid to gang r**e you met their demises, caught by the police. Consequently, you lost your innocence to a stranger instead of the street scums. Sister, those people are not our family and won't stop until you fall deeper into the abyss, sis you..."
Auriane paused, noticing the tears that streamed down Nora's violet eyes. Droplets of tears stained her yellow top, like a stream her tears flowed endlessly and the more she wiped it the more it flowed.
Auriane suddenly felt a heart wrenching pain to see her sister in tears, but she couldn't help it. Her sister had to know about it, if not she might still end up falling into the schemes of the ones she saw as a family. And end up dying like in her past life, oblivious why her fate had been been manipulated and by whom.
Clenching her fist, Auriane immediately dispelled the thoughts off her mind, there was no way she would let Nora fall into the same ill fate.
Never
"It turns out to be like this...sob sob sob ...I knew she hated me, but...what she did...."
Nora kept sobbing, while Stacey tried to comfort her, Auriane slowly rubbed her back, at loss for words. She had never been good at coaxing or comforting others, so she could only depend on Stacey.
And Stacey didn't disappoint her. Despite being innocent and quite childish, she seemed to know when to be serious. A stark contrast to Nelly Pruuse who only knew how to cause trouble. They were both cute and Jovial, but while the other was a brainless i***t, the other exuded a high spirit of awareness.
Auriane sighed, feeling that she didn't make a bad choice by letting Stacey and Serge stay close to them. She definitely had to repay them for their help and attention.
Ignorant about Auriane's thoughts and mixed emotions, Stacey continued comforting Nora. Despite the fact that she was unable to feel Nora's pain, she could still imagine how it felt to be betrayed to such an extent. It was definitely even more painful than being stabbed with a dagger.
"That's too much, what Cindy did is a crime, she should be punished."
Auriane turned to look at Serge, a little astonished that he actually believed her. After all, such a revelation wasn't easy to believe, besides she had no proves, still Serge undoubtedly believed her.
She could understand Nora's believe came through her being a victim who had been fed with doubts and Stacey's believe was due to the fact that was innocent and too gullible, so she could easily be deceived.
However, Serge was different, he was far more reasonable and probably intelligent enough to bear his fruit of doubt. Yet, he actually believed her words without hesitation.
Auriane stared at him in astonishment and asked calmly.
"How come you believe me, don't you think what I said was quite absurd?"
Serge turned to catch Auriane's clear gaze which was warm like a sun. Yet, though he found her eyes captivating, he was unable to hold her gaze, so he averted his eyes and spoke awkwardly.
"Of course I believe you, though you're a kind of mystery and book quite hard to read, I believe that you're not someone who harbors ill intentions. You would never make up such a story to harm anyone. Besides, I will obviously choose to believe you, than Cindy. I observed her and she's more than what meets the eye. Though she doesn't hide her resentment towards others and openly brings out her displeasure towards others whom she despises. She's wise enough never to cross the limits, so others would only portray her as hot tempered, rebellious and revengeful. However, no one would ever think she could be more than just revengeful due to the reputation she had made for herself."
Indeed, Cindy was what Serge had said. She was impressed that Serge could actually see this, but she wondered if he could tell the same for Angel so she asked.
"Quite observant, then what do you think of Angel White?"
Serge knew that Auriane was merely trying to test him, yet when he gave his answer, she frowned with displeasure.
"Did....did I say anything wrong?"
Serge asked, feeling awkward and nervous but he couldn't tell why. Even during exams he never felt so nervous, compared to when he confronted Auriane. Her aura was too intimidating for him to take. So he lowered his head in order to escape her gaze that he couldn't hold for more than five seconds.
Auriane pursed her lips, saying nothing, but she was quite displeased that even the observant Serge couldn't see through a person like Angel. But she wasn't the less bothered, after all, Angel wouldn't have gone so far in her past life if she wasn't good at concealing the other side of hers.
But it was fine by her, she would slowly peel Angel's facade and savour each moment with pleasure, she had plenty of time. Snapping out of her trance, Auriane opened her mouth to speak.
"Nothing, you're just...a weirdo."
Serge's mouth twitched, not knowing what to say about Auriane's nonchalance. For someone who had always received compliments about his good observation skills which was on par with most renown detectives, he was quite proud of his skills. However, after meeting Auriane, he felt that he became suddenly stupid and blank.
Ignoring Serge's reaction, Auriane filled a glass with water and passed it towards Auriane who had already calmed down. Her eyes were red and swollen due to the fact that she had cried.
" Nora, you can't let your pains overwhelm you, you have to use it to get stronger. Only then can you save yourself and take control of your fate, you're not alone anymore."
Nora looked up at Auriane with blurry eyes, almost being blinded by her glowing confidence. She was calm and charismatic, unfazed by the chaos around. It as if she had gone crossed the gates of hades and witnessed worst than death which nurtured her soul. While children of her age would be traumatized by such situations, she walked forward with no fear and faced her troubles with confidence.
Nora lowered her head and suddenly realized that she was quite inferior to this little sister of hers, though she raised her. While she cried and lamented on her ill fate, Auriane faced it without fear.
What about her?
