Auriane's austere voice soon cooled down their anxiety, giving them a feeling of being poured cold water when their body had barely heated up.
She seemed nonchalant with her respond, leaning on her chin, emersed in thought. However, none of them could actually guess what she was thinking , but they were quite curious why she had rejected their proposal, which they deemed to be the best. But before they could request for an answer, Auriane opened her mouth and spoke.
"Although your idea is feasible, it doesn't have a long-term guarantee."
Confusion was written all over their faces as they looked at each other and back to Auriane who was still able to maintain her calm composure. She pursed her lips into a straight line after thinking through, finally coming with an idea she said.
"Look at it in this perspective, though Nora's moon cake could sell quite well, it needs to be known to garner attention and increase in sales. In order to garner attention towards it, she'll need to make few more for promotion and offer them free as a form of advertisement. However, Nora's funds are limited and she might only be able to make two or less batch of the moon cake, which obviously might not be enough. We also need to think about the risk of return in such a situation. So your suggestion, might not be feasible at the end."
Haven understood her logic, Serge could only agree that she was indeed right. If Nora had to max out her quota in advertisement, she would be left with nothing to make new moon cakes. Besides, there was no guarantee that they could succeed at first trial and at the end she'll be at the loosing side.
But then, another idea popped up and Serge turned towards Auriane.
"How about this then, I could demand my mother to lend some money for Nora's starter, once she had sold enough moon cake, she could pay her back."
Stacey's eyes lit up and she found Serge's idea to be the best. After all her aunt seemed to be quite fond of Nora, so she definitely wouldn't disagree to it. However, before she could exclaim her happiness, Auriane once again turned Serge down.
"No, it isn't a good idea either."
Nora also agreed with Auriane this time, not because she thought it wasn't feasible, but she felt reluctant to let Mrs Rin lend her some money. Though she was quite close to Mrs. Rin, she felt like demanding money from her would inappropriate, so she immediately turned Serge down.
"Thanks for the help Serge, but I agree with Auriane, I don't find it appropriate either."
That wasn't why Auriane turned Serge down, but she also found it quite inappropriate and decided to explain herself properly so Serge and Stacey, would get up to any rough idea.
"Not only is your idea not appropriate, but it would be bad for Nora's reputation."
"What do you mean?"
Stacey was quite puzzled, not only her, but Nora was quite puzzled as well. Though it was inappropriate to let Mrs. Rin lend her some money, she didn't think it would be that bad either to cause a stir in her reputation.
Auriane couldn't help but feel a throbbing head ache when she looked at Nora who was puzzled as well. As someone who had been targeted by the White, Auriane thought Nora would be more aware than usual, but she seemed to have let down her guard as soon as she walked out of the White's mansion.
Perhaps because Nora didn't have a bad experience as her in her past life, so she was easily relaxed towards the White Family. She couldn't blame Nora either, no one knew just how far those bunch of wolves could go in order to get what they wanted. They were just like leeches, which once stucked on your body wouldn't easily be pulled away.
Only by making Nora realize this would she really feel at ease, so she continued with a stern expression.
"Sis Nora, you need to keep in mind that you have been targeted by the White's and although you have left their home, you still haven't escaped their grip and watchful eyes. They just need a single misstep to bring you down into the abyss."
Stacey suddenly felt a chill run down her spine when Auriane talked about the cruel White Family. Her words were icy cold, causing one to feel the intense cruelty of the White. Auriane seemed to know more than she said about that so called family. Since she was able to instill their fear towards the White's with just few words, they definitely had all reasons to believe that she resented them to the core.
Hoping to see the expression she carried why talking about the daunting White family, they were however disappointed when they were met with her apathetic expression, causing them to be unable to read through her.
"Then, you mean...?", Nora paused, suddenly feeling that she didn't know her own family and what she knew was probably just the tip of an icebergs.
But the little sister that she painstakingly raised seems to be able to see through what she had hopelessly been unable to see. Still, she had her doubts.
"Auriane..."
Aware of what Nora was thinking, Auriane immediately cut her off and said.
"Sis Nora, you really have to believe me, the White's are more cruel than you think. Do you know that Cindy had originally paid a bunch of gangsters to get you r***d, but failed and you lost your innocence to a stranger, aunt knew but she didn't stand on ceremony to plunge you deeper into the darkness. Father wouldn't hesitate either to sell you to a womaniser despite knowing that death and suffering awaited you there. And Angel..."
Auriane's face darkened as soon as she thought of the greatest culprit to her endless suffering in her previous life. However, she was able to conceal her emotions before anyone could realize.
The feud she had with the White family, she would definitely make them pay. But she couldn't make it too obvious yet.
Auriane sighed and continued.
"Do you really think such people deserve any benefit of doubt from you?"
They didn't and she knew, but Nora was paying attention to it anymore. She was more shocked by what Auriane had said earlier about Cindy paying gangster to gang r**e her. Even she wasn't aware of that, though she had her doubts, she didn't think as far as Auriane's speech just.
Shocked by her confession, Serge and Stacey couldn't help but gasp.
"This is horrible, gang r***d, how cruel."
Stacey gasped, covering her mouth with her hands. Auriane turned to see the same shock and disbelief in Nora's eyes. Only then did she realize that she had spilled the beans.
After all, she was well aware that Nora only had doubts about her r**e incident, but she barely knew that she had been set up and Cindy knew something about it.
As for Cindy hiring people to gang r**e her, but failed in the end, no one would believe in such cruelty from Cindy.
Yet she spilled the beans about the truth, though such information shouldn't have reached her. But she actually said it loud and clear without batting an eye, so how was she supposed to explain everything. She couldn't possibly tell them that she passed through a reborn and consequently knew more than just Cindy's evil plots.
Auriane suddenly felt a throbbing pain in her head, but it could still help her escape. At the end she would still need to explain everything, but how.
She was left in a difficult situation.
