“You’ve just heard what the doctor said earlier. I'm good, the baby is good and the pregnancy is no longer that delicate as before.” I continue to reason out, hoping that he will see through my points. But he was too firm in his stands on letting the nurse stay than to listen to me.
“NO LONGER THAT DELICATE. So it means to say that it is still,” he said emphasizing the first sentence of his words. Contradicting everything that I said.
“URGHH…” Waving my hands as if saying 'NEVERMIND' out of my frustration, I walk past him, taking larger steps than my usual to outrun him and leave him behind.
“Ale!” he calls out, but I didn’t turn back. I was so upset that the relief I felt earlier was like thrown somewhere else, and it's not making any more sense.
Having a husband like him is like riding a roller coaster or...
...maybe mood swings due to pregnancy?
But I know at some point that this is what I really wanted.
“Why can’t he understand that I can fully take care of myself? As if I am that fragile.” I murmured while taking long strides exiting the hospital.
Thus, I wanted to be alone for the time being. To give him the time and would later realize my point here.
Upon exiting the hospital, I immediately hop at the waiting cab and calmly instructed him to drive away to a certain place.
Sitting inside the cab, I realized that I haven’t heard Dauis calling after me other than one time.
But it's good that he is giving me space, so maybe he understands me all along...
While Dauis on the other hand was chasing the woman who was currently upset at some situations, was pulled aside.
"What?' I retorted at the owner of the hands.
"What, what? you look like a dog chasing its food! My God Dauis, look at yourself." She scolded as she released his wrist from her grasp and then bring both of her hands to either side of her hips.
She was fuming with anger no.
"I must go after her, she was so upset." he tried to excuse himself, but to no avail, she pull him in the opposite direction instead.
"She was upset and I am not?" She angrily raised her voice toward him in disbelief.
How can this man consider that woman very much while he put mine aside? she thought to herself. It was like fuel added to the fire that she end up fuming in rage.
This is what he always hates about her. She easily raises her voice and scolds him whenever she likes it. While he was just like any other little boy who will bow his head down and accept his fate.
How pathetic.
"And why is that? Please, Candy, understand me this time." he pleads.
"Believe me Dauis, I always do, but you're abusing my patience. Shipment will be the next day, yet here you are chasing that... (she pursed her lips as she close her eyes as if she was trying to control her emotions.) that woman,"
"That woman is my wife if you ever forgot," he said putting weight on the word wife.
"Then, let me remind you this! I was your fiancee before her, and I'm very sure you don't want me to go talking to her, right? And oh, please I am very fed up with your lame excuses. You've changed a lot." she said, clearly writing the danger that she convey in her every word.
"But my baby is in her!" he blurts out, pointing his index finger in the opposite direction of the hall.
"I know! But that baby is her's too so she will oath to take care of it even if you don't, you think so?" She asked raising her brows to him arrogantly.
"What are you suggesting to me on here? Abandon them?" he shrieks at her while looking in disbelief.
"you can... I don't know!" she said in a very angry tone before she turn around and left him astounded.
"SH*T!" he cursed silently as he clench his hands in anger before he started to chase the furious Candy.
Candy was very furious that he need to calm himself and later has to coax her or it will end up in a disaster.
"Candy, wait!" he called out while still chasing after her.
Only if I am not afraid that she will do stupid things, to hell will I be chasing this woman. He thought to himself.
As if he has a choice for now.
"What?" she halts angrily at him.
"Sorry about that, okay? I promise to make it up to you. Just this time." he pants, but manage to plead for her forgiveness.
"Make sure about this Dauis, because I'm all fed up. You know very well not to mess with me," she said as she crosses her arms in at her chest.
This woman's arrogance is getting on my nerve that I wanted to hit her, only if she is not a woman. He thought, gritting his teeth at the idea that there is nothing he can do for now.
Patience self, patience. You will get there in no time. he continued to comfort himself, knowing that his rage will be out of hand soon.
No one has treated him as Candy does.
He's a reputable businessman in the country, not only here, but even extended abroad. Including the company Ale has been working with before as a designer.
But this woman has all her guts in belittling him.
Never did she know the outcome of this.
Only if he could retort to her at this very moment and not caring her drastic decision, he sure would. But he was too afraid to gamble at such action.
Nevertheless put his sacrifices into waste...
Now, sitting in a secluded part of the park, my eyes wander to some pregnant women who were happily walking around with their husbands.
I'm not saying that I am not happy with him. Whew! I am, and his attention lately was quite overwhelming. Problem is that, he only believes in what he thought was right.
I love that he was looking after me and putting me into his priorities.
What I makes me so upset about is the fact that he seemed not to get my point and view it the way I do.
I wanted my freedom, I wanted to enjoy the liberty of walking around without somebody’s eyes following after me other than my husband. Why cant he give it to me?
I became obedient for the whole month, so all I need for him is to understand me.
And this nurse Tilly, I don't feel a liking to her. She seemed to have something up on her sleeve.
The way she lurks at me, and when I sometimes accidentally hear her reporting to someone about the happenings at home.
I even wanted to ask Dauis to change her, but he seemed to trust her so much that when I told him about it. He just simply dismissed the discussion.
That means to say that he was not bothered by it.
So I have to keep this dubious feeling of mine all to myself and watch out for this woman.
