Road to Ruin

CHAPTER 10

Drake got on the bike first and I got on as soon as he’d started it up. We rode away from the park until we reached the highway and I could feel myself holding tighter around Drake’s waist as he hit the gas and started flying down the road.

I felt the wind in my hair and nothing else mattered except what was happening right now.

I didn’t want to think about Finn or Rachel or school or anything.

Drake definitely knew that something was wrong but he didn’t press me on anything and I leaned my head against his back as we were riding along before he finally pulled up at a deserted car park somewhere that was way out of town.

“Did you bring me out here to kill me?” I asked and he started laughing.

“No. I have absolutely no interest in killing you.” He said.

“That’s good. What are we doing here?” I asked.

“I came across this place a while ago and I thought you might like it. Come on.” He said taking my hand and we walked through the forest until we came to a cliff face that had the perfect view of the forest and mountains in the far distance.

“Wow.” I said.

“I thought you’d like it.” He said.

So I slowly walked to the edge of the cliff and I could tell that it was making Drake nervous. But I just smirked at him as I sat down and hung my legs over the edge.

He eventually walked over and sat beside me.

“So, do you usually cut school like this?” He asked.

“I’m a senior. I can’t be cutting school at all but I also can’t be there right now either.” I said.

“Something pretty bad must have happened.” He said.

“My boyfriend cheated with my best friend and knocked her up.” I said.

“f**k me.” He said looking at me shocked.

“Yeah. which is why I didn’t stay there today. Because after the presentation I put together of their private conversation with my so called other friends became public I wasn’t going to stay there and have all those other idiots looking at me like they felt sorry for me.” I said.

“You had a recording?” He asked.

“This reveal has been a long time in the making.” I said.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“I knew they cheated when it happened. The baby was just the icing on the cake.” I said.

“Are you serious?” He asked.

“I managed to keep it together because I needed the perfect reveal for them.” I said.

“Damn. That’s cold.” He said.

“It was deserved.” I said.

“I’m not saying that it wasn’t awesome. But that is some deep shit.” He said.

“Well, those assholes know that I play the long game. And I’m not one to f**k around with because I f**k around twice as hard.” i said.

“No wonder you’re an honourary member of this gang. You fit right in.” He said.

“Really? The Prez’s woman broke into my apartment last night and tried to attack me.” I said.

“She’s gone now. He made sure she got on a bus and isn’t coming back after that.” He said.

“Good. She was a b***h. I heard that more members turned up today. Do I want to know how many?” I asked.

“No.” He said.

“I didn’t think so.” I said.

We sat on that cliff for the rest of the day and watched the sun set below the mountains in the distance and that’s when it started to get pretty cold and Drake didn’t want to keep me out here too much longer.

He helped me up from the cliff and he took his jacket off and wrapped it around me, letting me put my arms in it.

“Are you sure about this? If the other members see me wearing your jacket with your patch on it, they might get pissed.” I said.

“I’ll tell them that you’re clothes are as thin as s**t and you would have frozen on the way home which you would have.” He said.

“Yeah. Maybe.” I said.

“Come on.” He said.

It took us an hour to get back to the house and as soon as we pulled up and I saw everyone around the house partying and drinking with the fire going again, I knew now why no one would tell me how many people were here.

There were a lot more bikers but just as many woman had shown up today as well. Groupies that they had back in LA that were obviously not ready to let the club flee without them. Women that were basically passed around depending on how easy they were.

And my brothers looked like they were fitting right in with everyone that was there. Especially the women.
