"Are you okay Beth, why didn't you answer last night?" Carter asks me the next day when he called and I answered.
"I had a lot on my mind."
"Oh, do you want to talk about it?"
"Not really", I sigh.
"Are you still in bed, don't you have class?"
"I can skip today, I'm not feeling up to it to go", I answer.
"What happened? Talk to me."
"It's nothing, I'm fine", I brush him off.
He sighs, "fine, do as you wish, and whenever you're ready to tell me, I'm here to listen."

"What are you planning to do on your skip day?"
"Clean up the dorm, read, and finish my project."
