4. Don't go

Your storms can't be locked up in the box... Let it out, let it be free! ~ (Elian) After changing to another T-shirt, because the voice was very insistent, Elian stared at herself in the mirror with a frown. She grabbed her dagger and her crossbow, just in case. When she went out of her room, she saw the whole building was still empty. They were all still at Lafayette's ceremony and Elian was alone. She leaned against the wall, wondering whether she should sneak into Robyn's room. The b*tch didn't even hesitate... as someone plunged a knife through her gut. She held Elian in place... Robyn had watched it with a malicious smile on her lips, her eyes frozen into blocks of ice. There were no emotions in it, except a dark satisfaction. Elian shuddered as she remembered the look in Robyn's eyes. The place where the knife was plunged in, it was stinging, still, aching, even though the wound was healed, there was a scar on her stomach. Elian traced a finger against her gut... against the bumpy skin... she still felt the sharp knife cleaving through her tissues, her bones... She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. She now knew that last night was not a dream. At least the part after the naked man. It was not a dream. She flushed thinking about that particular dream about that beast, and her whole body tingled, and then she cursed at herself for flushing. This was not the time to think about the dream. She had bigger problems than that. She died yesterday and now here she is. Good as new, albeit a bit unhinged, now. She had woken up last night after the dream, and then she ran into the woods, and she was really fast, faster than she had ever been. She was graceful, and she had never been. The lake was clear... and then she heard it. No, she felt it even before she heard it. The dark figure had pounced on her with a dagger raised above his/her head and Elian didn't know how the dagger wasn't already buried in her throat, but at the last second, she had easily shifted to the side, quick and fast as lightning. How did I? He was so fast. So strong. So, how did I avoid him? How did I see the man before he came out of the tree? There were just too many questions inside her buzzing brain. Her thoughts had no end nor a beginning. They thrashed inside her, pulsing, swirling. Confusing. She had no answers, at all, none, except those from the crazy voice inside her head, which she didn't even know what to think about. She tried Robyn's room and it was locked. Robyn usually never locked, but lately, her room was always locked. She stared at the lock... it would be easy to pick the lock, and then looked at the clock. "Mad beast first, psycho killer next," she whispered to herself as she walked out of the main house. 'Do not call him mad.' "I will call him however I want to call him." The voice growled. 'He is sexy, he is the most handsome man in this whole world, and he is mine.' The voice sounded too possessive. Yeah, whatever! "If he is yours, what the hell is that p*rvert doing in my damn dream?" She mumbled harshly. "Oh, and let me tell you, it is not PG- 13, either," Elian said, even as her breathing hitched at the thought of him and the voice scornfully laughed. 'Oh, don't pretend like you didn't like his fingers and lips on you. Everywhere,' The pestering voice was taunting. Elian shook her head and ignored the voice as she started to run through the forest behind the compound of the main house of the Order of Amethyst, where she lived. She knew where exactly she was when she first met him. Elian had avoided that particular place for a long time after she had met him the first time, just so that she wouldn't run into him again. She wandered deep into the woods, and the trees were closer together in these parts of the woods. The forest became dense and the soft sunlight that lingered went off, leaving only the shadows. For now, Elian wasn't too worried, because she knew how this day would go. She saw the meadow through the opening in the trees. She was finally here. Her heart thundered as she stepped into the meadow, looking at her watch. She licked her lips... bit her nails... and then she felt it, the beast. She felt him, heard him, even before she saw him. Leaves crunched beneath his paws, and his breathing was soft and eager. She waited in anticipation, her heart thudding closer to her throat, her stomach twisting... there were big, wild birds inside her stomach. If he didn't come now, she would explode. 'He is here... damn, there he is. His wolf is so damn regal and sexy. I would love to have his pups!' The crazy thing living inside her said and Elian's eyes widened. She had learnt to accept that she was crazy, but this... His pup! His pup? What the f*ck was that? There was a part of her that was not normal now. And Elian couldn't do anything about it. And her life, her life was far from normal, anyways. The moment she woke up in her bed, with Robyn looking down at her, smiling, Elian's life had stopped making any f*cking sense. Now, she had to go along with the flow... until she found out the secrets that had been kept away from her. Even when Elian had prepared for the meeting with the beast with silver eyes, even when she knew what was going to happen, the moment he burst out of the tree, his onyx fur gleaming in the soft silver glow of the moon, her hand reflexively went to the crossbow, even though she knew she was not going to use it. She hadn't used it the first time, when she was really scared. Now, she was just... wary, and she was- she needed his help. There was no logical sense in shooting the only one person --wolf?-- who could actually help you! Enemy of her enemy, and he was her best friend. The wolf looked at her with its shrewd silvery eyes and Elian gasped a little, as she felt whatever she had felt when she first met the beast. He took a step closer to her, lifting his snout up in the air, and his eyes widened. She could feel the emotions passing through them, clear as a day. Confusion. Shock. Surprise and.... finally lust. He lusted her. He growled softly, and it was a sound that should have woken her up from her hypnotic state, but it pushed her deep into it. His growl was soft, seductive and it rang in the quiet forest, filling the night air with its wantonness. She felt the answering call of his growl, deep in her bones. She instinctively knew it was... a mating call. He was craving her and she was craving him. He looked at her, his silver eyes flashing with need and she felt the same need rippling inside her body in soft waves. He was a giant beast. He was something she had hated all her life and yet she didn't know why she was burning in need and desire as his eyes scanned her like she was a free spread of desert or something, as if he wanted to take a big bite of her. 'Stop staring at him and ask him to-' He hesitantly took a step back from her and turned around. If he ran away now... she would die in six months. She didn't want to die. One death was enough for this lifetime. She needed answers... she needed him. The moment she woke up again, with Robyn, the woman who had murdered her, looking over her, she knew she needed an ally and that ally... could not be from the order of Amethyst. Zoey was her best friend. Blake was her fiance. And they were still hunters, unlike her. She was the odd man, she had always been. "Wait, don't go." She softly whispered, her voice barely audible. Her fingers trembled as she put the crossbow down on the ground. The wolf stopped and looked at her, and then down at the crossbow on the ground, his eyes widening in confusion. He growled softly, this time, in warning when she took a step towards him. She raised her hands and shook her head, showing she didn't want to harm him. He bent his head down, looking at her with his sharp eyes, his eyes stalking her every movement. She was scared. Of course. He was a massive beast and if he wanted, he could take her with a single swipe of his paws. But somehow... she knew he wouldn't attack her. His eyes were bewildered, but there was no hostility in his eyes. He was no threat, at least, not right now, not to her. He growled softly as she took another step towards him and he took a step back. "I am not going to do anything. I mean... how could I? You are so damn big and I am tiny when compared to you." She rambled on as she took a step closer to him. "It is strange that I am even talking with you, with the creature from hell," she bit her tongue and shook her head with an abashed look in his direction. That was not the right thing to say to someone who could potentially save you from ultimate death, now was it?! The creature's silver eyes glinted as he leered at her. And even though he wasn't talking... she almost felt his emotions. "Okay, sorry, sorry, you are not from hell, but..." she mumbled as she took another step. Now she was so close to him, she could almost feel the soft fur. Without another thought, she ran her finger through his silky black fur and her heart thundered. He was so damn soft. The wolf shuddered as soon as her fingers pressed against his warm skin and he mewled softly. She smiled. It was strange. She had hated wolves all her life, and here she was petting a damn wolf. In all of her biggest fantasies, in all of her wildest imaginations, this was something she believed she would never have done, and yet here she was. In the morning, when she woke up, just a day after she died, if anyone had told her that she would be having this particular, bizarre conversation with a majestic-looking beast, and petting his velvet fur, Elian would have called them crazy. But here she was, caressing the lustrous fur of a tall, dark, handsome wolf. 'If you are lucky, you can also caress the tall, dark and sexy man!' And this was crazier than waking up after death. She ran her fingers along the length of his furry body and he howled softly. His eyes lifted to look at her, and she could see he was enjoying her touch. Strangely enough, she was too. "I- I need your help. Can I- can I meet your human?" She whispered and the wolf looked up at her, his eyes calculating. "I mean- I- I know this must be bizarre for you. It is bizarre for-" before she could finish her sentence, he turned around and then bounded deep into the overgrown trees until he became one with the shadows. Elian stood there watching him disappear into the night and she felt anger swirling inside her. Why would he run away now? She almost thought she was getting through to him. What was he so afraid of? In fact, she was the one who should be afraid. This stupid mutt! She almost wanted to bump her head over and over against the tree bark. "What the f*ck am I going to do now?" ___
