She should have expected it, but... she didn't. Qarinah was too far gone by this point. Her magic flickered around her. She looked like a live wire.
Elian looked at Esme and Esme nodded her head. "Let's finish this and go home. I am so tired."
"What am I supposed to do?" Esme asked, looking confused.

They closed their eyes and Esme gasped, when the blue and yellow light danced together. Qarinah's sword hit what looked like a massive force field before she was thrown away. She shrieked.
