Roman looked at Esme, his eyes filled with so much tenderness. He stared at her, studying her thin face, her sunken cheek, and his body burned in his anger. He wanted to destroy the woman who had done this to his mate. And he would pay her back for this.
"My wolf says you are my mate. What is- what is a mate?" Esme looked at him, her eyes confused and he blinked. His wolf howled in laughter as Roman shook his head over and over again.
"Oh! OH!" He looked at her, blinking... and she leaned her head against her shoulder and watched him curiously.
"My wolf likes you. She tells me you are the sexiest man alive. Are you sexy?"
