The Escaped Mate

The jump was so frightening that Aurora forgot how to scream while going down. In those few seconds, her whole life flashed before her eyes. Just as she was about to hit the river, she closed her eyes in order to lessen the impact of the fall and happily embraced the death. Little did she know that fate had other plans for her. Falling into the river with a loud thud and splashing waves of water surrounding her, Aurora felt the cold water touching her skin. For a second she wanted to relax, cherish the fact that she survived a fall so high. But she didn't even get a chance to breathe properly as she heard a huge splash of water followed by another huge splash. Knowing those feral wolves weren't leaving her alone, she started to move her arms and legs, hoping to move forward, but couldn't. At that moment, she cursed herself for never taking swimming lessons and tried to stand on the ground. The water was so cold and the river was so deep that she couldn't even stand properly. Soon those wolves were near her and she knew she had no chance now. The loud howling and growling didn't help her a bit, but it wasn't like that she could actually do anything. But fate had other plans in her mind as before those wolves could even reach her, a huge wave of water followed, drowning everything in it's sight, including Aurora and her kidnappers. Being in the cold water for so many hours, she felt her consciousness slowly losing and accepted this as her fate. Her body, being in water for days, started gathering moisture and her legs and hands started to swell. Her body moved along the stream like a lifeless corpse until it got stuck in a large branch of tree which was submerged in water. The warriors of the Night Moon Pack were on their daily patrolling round when they smelled the scent of flesh. Following the scent, a few warriors were shocked to see a young girl who looked like she was almost dead. At first the warriors wondered, from where this girl could be, since there was no adjacent pack nor any human civilization near their pack. Still searching for any possible threat and making sure there was none, a few warriors started to work on how to rescue that poor girl while one of them mind linked to the Luna, informing the situation. Since both the former Alpha and the current Alphas were out of the pack, upon Luna's order, the warriors took that girl directly to the pack hospital. *********** The Luna of the Moon Knight Pack, Ana Moon Knight, was about to go for a shower when she received a mind link about a young unconscious girl. She told the warriors to bring back that poor girl to the pack house as she put on some appropriate clothes and prayed to God before leaving her room. Apart from being the perfect Luna, she was also a very skilled doctor. Her medical skills have saved many lives during wars and attacks. Walking towards the pack hospital, she saw the hospital was more crowded than usual since it was the regular health check-up week. Even though wolves were supernaturals and had the unique ability to heal themselves, she still insisted a mandatory regular check-up for every member of the pack in a given week of every month. Walking through the corridors, she walked towards the room where the girl was kept and she was shocked to notice her. She realized the condition of the girl was not very stable and immediately started working on her. Knowing the girl was hypothermic from being in water for so long, she took respective measures to treat her. As per her instructions, two nurses were by that girl's side, keeping an eye on her for the whole night. The next morning, her condition improved a bit and Ana was hopeful that her unfortunate young patient would definitely recover. After two days, the pack Luna was ecstatic after receiving the news that the young girl was conscious now. While she was eager to meet her patient, it wasn't the same for Aurora, who was looking around the hospital room, finding herself in a very unfamiliar room. By the time Ana reached the room, she was horrified to see how violently the patient was reacting. "Shh.... Look at me, look at me",she said, in an attempt to divert the patient's focus to her. For some reason, since the moment Ana laid her eyes on this young girl, she felt some sort of special connection which was unable to explain. That's why she didn't want anyone to harm this girl nor did she want this innocent girl to harm anyone. But being too frightened, when Aurora sensed the person approaching her, reflexes kicked in as she clawed the person. Ana let out a painful groan and the nurses immediately captured Aurora, trying to hold her in. Ana looked shocked as, in a matter of seconds, her hand started to turn blue and she felt nauseated. Before she could even figure out what was wrong, she smelled her sons approaching her and stood shocked when she noticed her boys froze the moment they entered the room. The Alphas immersed themselves in work as they couldn't believe the huge bomb that had just dropped on them. Evan immediately went back to his office, since there was so much pending work to do, while Ethan went straight to the pack ground to train with warriors. Meanwhile, Econ escorted himself to the library, since he had a hunch maybe he could find something in the books. They drowned themselves in work until they all received a mind link from their mother, to join her for lunch. They all declined at first, but after getting an earful from their mother, they had no choice but to join her. At the table, the boys took their seats and smiled at their mother who was giving them a smug look. "Before we start, is there anything you want to share with me?", she said, giving an opportunity to her son so that they could tell her the truth and confirm her suspicions. But the boys didn't say anything, instead they just talked here and there, avoiding the topic. Fortunately, their younger sister Riana joined them and they got lucky. Riana was only twenty-one, four years younger than them, yet she was about to give birth to her second baby. From an early age, they saw how their sister was smitten by their friend Henry, who was now their beta. The moment Riana turned eighteen, she was elated to know Henry was her mate and they both completed the mating ceremony on that very same night. It was very common for wolves to finish the mating ceremony and claim their mate as soon as they mate, so no one was against it. Soon the couple was blessed with a baby boy who was two years old now and known as Harrison Knight Miller, while Riana was in the last trimester of her second pregnancy. Seeing her son's hesitation, Ana, too, didn't push matters even though she had her suspicion that the young girl was definitely her son's mate. She knew sooner or later, the young Alphas would reveal themselves, since wolves go crazy the moment they mate their other half. After lunch, the boys again drowned themselves in work, since they were tired of the constant yapping and nagging of their wolves. They all wanted to meet her, see her, ask her about how she was doing, but knew it wasn't the right time nor the right place. While their wolves were going crazy, demanding to be near her, they kept being rational and decided not to give into their desires. But everything went south when they received a mind link and heard that the young girl had escaped.
