Tony stormed out of the station, clutching the files he believed would ruin Lisa.
With proof of a supposed criminal past, he was confident no one would want to associate with her.
Her estimated net worth had skyrocketed into the billions after launching her company, dealing in original diamonds and rare gems. Tony compared her success to his and felt the sting, she was thriving far more than he was.
His driver pulled over outside his office. Tony opened the file eagerly, only to find nothing.
The documents showed no arrest record. The “Lisa Young” listed bore no resemblance to the woman he once married.
“Who messed with these files?” he growled, slamming the folder shut.
Frustrated, he tossed the papers into the trash.
