The other world

(Akshaya's VOC) I love to curse my alarm. Why is this world so cruel to the people who love to sleep? I took my pillow to hide from the evil noise. "Get up Akki! we'll get late to our class!" "What's the time?" I asked her. "Eight-thirty!" Shit! Late, no! too late! I got up from my bed in one swish.  "Why didn't you wake me up before?" I asked her moving all over my place. "You won't wake up although a thousand lions roar." She and her satire. Do I need it now? No! Okay, where is my stupid notebook? I need it like now. "I packed your bag. Go change." O Geetha! My darling. I went and kissed her cheek. "Thanks, honey!" I rushed to the cupboard to grab anything that I find first. God! All these are rolled all over! How do I find what to wear? I settled with the shaded jeans dangling with the roll of dirty clothes. It doesn't stink too much. So, it's okay and it obviously troubles the person sitting beside me. I think Gunna won't dare to come near me today. I slept with my t-shirt on last night so I didn't bother to change. "You're wearing those again and not taking a shower?" She's such a neatness freek. "Yes as there's no time!" She nodded pushing her glasses back onto her nose. I got off from my pyjama pants and I put on my jeans from the treasure hunt. "Let's go." I said adjusting my jeans above my hips. "Use this, you'll not sleep in the class." She said handing me a wet towel. We walked out of our room and Geetha made sure that we locked it properly. "O my god! I just forgot!" I yelled making Geetha jump. "What?" She asked alarmingly. "I forgot my phone!" I yelled and she rolled her eyes. "O come on Akki, no one will call us." Yeah, she's right, how can anyone call me. I don't have anyone to call mine. "Come let's go!" She pulled me away from my thoughts and place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "The main motto of the power steering that we have here is to accomplish the turning of the wheel without much force with the help of hydraulics." The class is too boring and no-one is listening can't he see it. It's just two minutes for it to end so why doesn't he stop. I can still feel Guna's eyes on me. Why is he too desperate? "Okay, I'll discuss the rest in the next class. The class is dismissed." Thank god! I tried to rush out of the class but I found Guna standing in my way, grinning like always. "What is it Guna?" I asked him in my usual fake smile. "I was just wondering if you could come to the movie with me this Saturday?" What do I do now? "Saturday right? Hmmm, I'm sorry I don't think so. I'm going to the nursery on Saturday." Please let it work! "Okay, how about I come to the nursery, help you out there and take you to the movie in the afternoon?" Why don't you give up idiot? "I'll be spending the evening in the orphanage teaching." I made up although that's what I generally do. "Okay, Sunday would do right?" "Sunday again at the orphanage." I gave him my toothy grin. "Friday night?" Oh, how I wish I could yell at him but it could be a friendly offer too. "No, I spend time at the orphanage." Please save me god! "You're a busy girl." He said and brushed a strand of hair on my face behind my ear. How dare he? "Thanks for the offer, I need to go catch up with Geetha, bye." I tried to escape from him and I did succeed. "What was that idiot doing?" Geetha asked as I reached her on the front. "Just ignore him, he's a jerk." I said and pulled her out. "We'll talk in the restroom." "No, I can't ignore." She said as we entered the restroom. "I'll complain to the head of the department now and you're coming!" "No, we can't do that! He's being friendly and we both know that. It's not like he's trying to seduce me." Although that's what he wants, I don't want my mind to believe it. Maybe I'm taking it in the wrong way? "You're the perfect example for foolishness Akki!" "It's not foolishness. Maybe I'm wrong about him?" "Wrong? Are you crazy? He's hitting on you and today he touched you! Wake up!" She said. "Okay, he's hitting on me. I'll deal with it, maybe I could talk and clear it out. Why do we need to complain for such a small thing?" She seemed to have calmed down a little. "Do whatever you want and if he still troubles you, your listing to me in all cases." She warned. "Okay, let's go to the library. I didn't understand a word that old brat taught." She smiled. "You're despicable!" She said and we walked to the library talking about everything which came to our mind. She's the only one I have as a family and I'm the only one she has as a family as we have no-one else. ****************************************************************************************** (Anand's VOC) I threw the file onto the wall opposite to me. My personal assistant is simply doing nothing other than trying to look good. Why can't she bloody make a simple schedule for? "Miss. Clare come to my office now." I spoke on the phone. After a few moments the women who frustrate me entered. "May I come in Sir?" "Yes." "How may I help you, Mr. Bhatia?" "Get the hell out of this building." Her jaw dropped as she heard me. "Excuse me, Sir? I'm sorry I didn't get you." She asked after a long minute of silence. "You heard me right, you're fired. You may talk to my legal adviser if you have any objections." I got up from my chair and grabbed my jacket and my phone. "You may leave Miss. Claire. I'm immune to any emotions." She left my office with tears but who cares, not me. Tears are nothing but a distraction from success. That's the reason why I never cried. Not even on my dad's funeral. I took my phone and called Ali, my friend and my chief security officer. "Is the plane on the runway?" I asked him as I walked out of the office. "All set sir." He replied. "Great, mom?" "She'll reach in five minutes, sir." "Alright, I'm starting too." I hung up and walked to a cubicle at the end of the floor. Everyone kept greeting me, distracting from their work but this young man didn't bother to turn from his work "Mr. Jain?" He didn't respond as I called. "Mr. Jain!" I called him a little louder. "Can't you see I'm working?" He asked. "Yes, I can see that Mr. Jain. I would like to speak something important so please tilt your head." His eyes shot up and they widened in horror as soon as he saw me. This man can never recognize or think about anything when he's working. I like that about him, no hindrance and more work. How I wish I can clone people like him. "S..... So..... Sorry Sir." He stammered "I fired Miss. Claire, I need a new assistant. I'm telling this to you as I need someone like you. Make sure of that." He relaxed as he heard me. "Yes, Sir."  "And great job with that report. I'll see what you could do in the R and D department." His eyes lit up. "Sir, does it mean that....." "Yes." I stopped him. "Your promoted but only after I get an assistant like you." "Yes sir, I'll do my best." I eyed the others and they turned they eyes back to their computer screens. I can guess their eyes are filled with jealousy. People are always wicked. They never accept a person's victory but they'd love to watch anyone crushed to the ground. Why isn't there anyone who accepts anyone's victory and help a person who is drowning deep down into a huge loss? Is there a person who accepts even their enemy's victory and grieve for their loss or worst case help them overcome them? Who am I kidding? I've seen it with my own eyes. People love to crush you and if it's not possible, they'll curse you. There is no-one like that. No one can be soo pure. It only happens in stories, not in real life. Even if they are there, I don't think they will survive the people around them.
