“I really tried my best to convince him, Ma’am… but he is insisting to go and see yo--”
“Hi, my lovely Makaria! I missed you”
What the? I am surprised when a young-looking man enters the room with a big smile. Who is he?
He is walking with confidence towards Makaria. And as I look at Makaria’s face, she is very shocked.
“Raiden?!” she said as she walked backward away from that man who just entered.
Raiden?
Who is that Raiden?
What is his connection with Makaria?
“Yes, it is me! Your Raiden!” and as quick as the lightning, he hugged Makaria, but Makaria didn’t hug him back. What the hell is going on right now? What am I seeing?
“If I were you, I am not doing that” Makaria looks annoyed when she said that. This Raiden is too courageous to hug her. Makaria is said to be like a monster in this company, but Raiden seems to be not afraid.
“Why? I missed you” He seems to get along with Makaria so well, but she is not pleasant to see him. I am confused.
“In a count of three…”
“Makaria, why don’t you just hug me back? Don’t you miss me?”
“Two…”
“Okay, okay fine.” He immediately move away with her and raised both hands. Am I seeing a one-sided love here? By the looks of it, he likes her, but she doesn’t like him back.
“Good. Now, get out of my office now!”
“What? Why? Is that how you treat your loyal suitor?”
Oh, so he’s a suitor? Gradually, everything became clearer. All I can say is that he is brave to confess his love for Makaria. So brave. Because according to Sir Alex, each one here is either afraid or mad with Makaria. I wonder what he saw in that woman to love her like that.
“Yes. And the last time we talked I told you that I don’t like you, remember?”
“Ouch, that hurts. And yes I remember but I don’t care. I will continue courting you Makaria. Mark my word”
Woah. This man is obsessed.
“Enough Raiden! I want you to stop!”
“I don’t want ME to stop. Until you say YES to me”
I cannot believe what I am seeing and hearing right now! As if I am a part of a movie or something. He is head over heels with her.
“No. For the nth time, NO”
“I won’t accept that as an answer. Oh, I didn’t notice you there. Hi! Who are you?”
I was surprised when Raiden turned his attention to me, who is currently standing at the back of the office while holding the mop and watching them.
“M-me?” I asked, and yes, I stuttered, again.
“Yes, you. I am looking at you. Am I cross-eyed or something?”
“N-no. Sorry”
“So again, who are you?”
“I am Thanatos” I awkwardly said with an awkward smile. Damn, I am fine watching them earlier, now I don’t feel comfortable at all.
“Hi, Thanatos, nice meeting you. I am Raiden Greenfield, Makaria’s future boyfriend” he went near me full of confidence as he offered me his hands. I immediately hold and shake it for a few seconds as a sign of respect and friendliness. Well, he’s not that bad. I guess he is somehow kind compared to our boss. But if I would give him a piece of advice, it is good for him to stop courting Makaria. I am not telling that they are not good together but...he seems not to be compatible with her. I don’t know. That is my opinion.
I AM NOT ALSO SAYING THAT I AM THE ONE FOR HER. IT IS NOT LIKE THAT, REALLY… NOT LIKE THAT.
I mean… Nah never mind! What the hell am I thinking right now?!
“What are you talking about?! Shut up. Never mind him, he’s just nothing. You may continue cleaning outside” Makaria went near him and pulled him to get away from me.
“Is he a janitor here?”
“It is none of your business”
“Woah, so he is a janitor. But he’s too good-looking to be a janitor.” Woah, well… I felt happy when he said that. I mean, I never thought that I am good-looking.
“Hehe… Thank you, Sir Raiden” then I scratched the back of my head. I am somehow shy but flattered.
“Don’t mention it.”
“I told you to clean outside, right, Thanatos? Now get out!” okay, she is yelling at me already. So I quickly ran towards the door of her office.
“Y-yes. Ma’am” then I quickly twist the doorknob.
“Hey, why are you too harsh on him, Makaria? He’s just a janitor don’t be like that”
“Oh please, Raiden. You have no right to say that. I can do whatever I want with my employees”
That is the last thing I heard before I closed the door and leave.

I am patiently resting outside Makaria’s office because my work is already done. I am done cleaning and mopping the whole hallway and I feel so tired. I am currently sitting down on one of the couches as I look at some of the employees passing by. Most of them are busy with documents and everything that is why they don’t even have time to notice me… or maybe, they intend not to, because I am only a janitor.
For a moment, I leaned my back and closed my eyes. I am sleepy. Dianna woke me too early that is why I am like this right now. I wonder what she is doing or where she is as of this moment. I haven’t seen her here for a couple of hours now. Well, I guess she is too afraid to go near Makaria’s office. She doesn’t want to see her again because she is too afraid to lose her job. She has a point somehow. It is difficult to find a job nowadays.
“Thanatos…”
Suddenly, I heard a whisper in my ear. Then I felt the chill all over my body. Wait… why does it feel like it is getting too cold and breezy here?
I immediately opened my eyes and look around. No one is here! Only me. Then who whispered my name?
“Thanatos”
What the?! I turned around and I see nothing. That voice… I know that voice….
“You should not be here, Thanatos”
I immediately stood up to find where that voice is coming from. I am surprised by what I saw. The plant beside the door of Makaria’s office is withered already! The last time I checked, it is green and healthy but now?! What happened?
