“It’s been a week already, you haven’t seen Meria anywhere?” Septhis sat down on the floor beside me. We are here on the rooftop of the M&A building. I made sure that no one can see me, I mean us, me talking to Sephtis is just looked like me talking to myself.
“As I told you, I have seen her once. But yet, I bumped into Makaria so I failed to follow her” after what happened that day, and after our argument, os should I say conversation, Makaria and I haven’t seen each other again in this building. She didn’t even bother me once this week. I guess what I have said hits her hard, so hard for her to keep her distance from me at this very moment.
“Tss… I don’t really know what she is up to. It is not good for her if she will stay here for a very long time. She passed her due already, she needs to be carried to the afterlife”
“Maybe she is holding on to something or someone that she cannot let go”
“Then what or who is it?” that is the question that even I don’t know the answer to.
“That is what we need to figure out. By the way, can you do me a favor?”
“What favor is that? You know I still have a lot of things to do so--” he is about to leave me when I immediately grabbed and pulled his arms. He can’t escape, I won’t let him.
“It is just a simple favor, Sephtis.”
“Okay, fine. What is your favor?” he then just sat down near me as he rolled his eyes.
“Can you please show yourself to people? So that I won’t be looking so crazy here talking to myself? Maybe it will be easier if we could join forces in finding Meria”
“Wait, what? I can show myself to people whenever I want to?” so all this time, he doesn’t even know that he can do that? Really? His expression is very priceless! Is he kidding me?
“Yes. You didn’t know that? When you became visible, they can also hear you and everything. You won’t look like a ghost”
“Do you think that I know about that? Of course, I don’t know!” he immediately stood up full of excitement. He is like a kid when he is doing that kind of expression. He is so amused by what he can do, that he discovered just now.
“You need to learn a lot of things,” I said as I also stood up next to him. I tap his back before I started walking. My afternoon shift is about to begin so I need to go back to work, which is downstairs.
“Yeah, you are right! Now Thanatos, How can I let myself be visible to people?” as I expected, he followed me down to the stairs. It is good that no other people are using these stairs… YET.
“You just have to use your mind. Make yourself believe that you are not invisible anymore.”
“That’s it? Okay okay!” he started to close his eyes for a moment and tried to concentrate. I just stare at him for a while before I continue to walk down the stairs.
“So how about now, Thanatos? Am I visible already?”
“Well, invisible or not I can still see you. Why don’t you ask other people?”
“You are right! Uhm…” as we walk along the way, I haven’t expected to meet one of the employees here. Sephtis didn’t hesitate to talk “Hi, excuse me. Can you see me?”
The man stopped for a moment before he began to speak.
“I am not blind, you punk. I can totally see you” then after that the man walks away from us. The eyes of Sephtis immediately sparkles as his huge smile showed up. Well, I didn’t expect that he is a fast learner… that he can do it that quickly. I guess he is not that dumb.
“Woah!!! My goodness, Thanatos have you heard that?! He can see me!” he started to hold both of my shoulders as he shakes me because of joy. Damn. He is making me very dizzy.
“Yes, I heard” then I tried to stop him from shaking me. I tried to walk again, away from him when I met another employee again.
“Miss, can you see me?” of course, he asked her. He is like a kid who just had to taste a lollipop for the first time. He is very happy because of his powers to be visible. For me, it is not that special.
“Y-yes. You are cute” WHAT THE?
Maybe this lady’s vision is not clear. As I can see she has a very thick lens in his eyeglasses. Yes, her vision is very blurred to say that to Sephtis.
“Me? Cute? Have you heard that, Thanatos? She thinks I am cute!” oh great. Now he really thinks he is cute.
“Okay now stop that already. We still have a soul to take”

“This is Sephtis, he is an old friend of mine” I introduced him to Dianna. He looks so happy to meet people. He looks like a poor little innocent kid who had to meet friends for the first time.
“Oh, really? I have no idea that you have a very cute friend like him” I was surprised when she pinched his cheek. Sephtis became a lot happier when Dianna did that. Tss, first-timer.
“I told you Thanatos, I am cute” oh great, I don’t like what is happening right now. I just rolled my eyes in front of Sephtis before I turned back my attention to Dianna. I immediately touched her shoulders and seriously looked at her.
“Don’t say such nonsense, Dianna. He will believe you”
“Don’t be too harsh on your friend, he really is cute”

“See? See? By the way, you are so pretty, Miss Dianna” OKAY WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?
“Oh, thank you. Such a sweet guy! By the way, why are you here?” They look so close already huh? Even if they didn’t know each other that much yet.
“I am actually searching for someone”
“Wooh, is it a girl?”
“Yes, it is”
“So you have a girlfriend?” so when you are searching for someone does it have to be GIRLFRIEND already?
“No, I don’t it is not like that… uhm…”
“It is complicated, Dianna. I will just help my friend Sephtis to find what he is looking for okay? Then we will come back here” I said as I cut them off. We need to find Meria as soon as possible. We don’t have any time to mingle and flirt with other people like this.
“Sure, sure no problem. Hope you find what you were looking for, Sephtis!”
“Yes, thank you” then I pulled Sephtis away from her. We started walking towards the elevator of this building.
“Thank you so much, Dianna pretty!”
“Stop that Sephtis! Focus on our goal” I immediately tap his head. He is being too loud and restless right now.
“I am focused, Thanatos.”
“So that is focus huh?”
“Yes. By the way what if your boss, Makaria sees us? What should we do? Run?”
“That is a good option. The first option is… don’t let her see us”
“What if the second option has failed already?”
“What?!”
“She is Makaria, right?” I was surprised when he pointed at the elevator…
And… I saw a woman in red inside. She is looking straight at us.
REALLY? NOT AGAIN.
“Yes, I am. Who are you? Why are you in my company?” Makaria walked slowly towards us and I can’t keep my heart beating so fast and hard right now.
“S-sorry, Ma’am Makaria, she is just searching for someone,” I said looking down on the floor. Damn it, it is my first time seeing her after our argument.
“Shut up, Thanatos. I am not talking to you” when she said that, I automatically bit my lips. I just keep myself quiet. I don’t even know what to tell her!
“Oh, I see why they are afraid of you” what the heck? Sephtis shouldn’t have said that.
“What did you say?!”
“Nothing, ma’am. Like what Thanatos said, I am looking for someone”
“Who are you looking for? Is it me? Well, I don’t have time for strangers, so you know” Makaria really thinks so high for herself. She is too proud. She is blinded.
“No, I am not looking for you. I am looking for someone else. So if you may allow me, I just have to talk to that someone” Sephtis is about to walk away when Makaria stopped him from doing so.
“Why would I allow you to do that?”
“Because that someone that I was referring to, doesn’t belong here. I need to talk to her in order to convince her to come with me”
“Oh, so it is a love issue?”
“N-no, ugh… fine if that is how you interpret it. I don’t have much time so will you excuse me. Thank you” Sephtis just shrug his arms before she walks toward the elevator. He looked at me showing that I should follow him. So I did… but…
Makaria held my hand.
“Oh, where are you going, Thanatos?”
“I am going to come and help him. He is my friend”
“I don’t care. I allowed him to do what he needs to do already. And YOU? You need to work, right? It is not your break time so start cleaning.” Damn it! This is what I was talking about. That is why I am avoiding her.
“Y-yes. Sorry. Will do that Ma’am Antoinette” I said as I turned around to go back to work. But before I even walk, I saw a glimpse of a blonde lady not too far away from where I was standing...
“Thanatos!!! That is her, Meria!”
