“Let's go, we're gonna be late, Thanatos!” Then she showed me a hand gesture telling me to go inside her car… but I insisted. Instead of walking towards her, I just stayed where I am right now and looked at her.
“Don't wait for me. I am going to take a bus” and I scratch the back of my neck awkwardly. With that, I automatically saw the frustration on her face. As expected.
“What? What the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you come with me to the company?”
“It's not quite good for your employees to see us together” I seriously said before I turned around acting like I was waiting for a bus somewhere to come along.
“What? What's wrong with that?”
“You are the CEO, I am just a janitor”
“So? You are still the father of my baby” then she started to walk near me and touched one of my hands. Oh no, she's trying to convince me.
“But not all of them know that”
“So what do you want me to do? To send a newsflash to all of them? HEY I'M PREGNANT AND THANATOS IS THE FATHER”
“No! I did not say that? It is not what I meant!” I shove her hand touching mine. After that I slowly step away from her.
“Then what do you mean? Yesterday you hugged me and told me that I will be safe with you and now what are you doing? You don't want to go with me to the office? You want to separate yourself just because you are afraid of what my employees might say to you?” Actually, she's correct. Point taken… but I can't be with her right now. I still need to have some space… and I don't even understand why I am looking for space!
“It's not just that… you don't understand, Makaria”
“I really don't get it! You know that there's no bus passing around here right? You have to walk out of the subdivision and that's a long way to go! You're going to be late”
“Y-yeah… I know and… it's fine with me” I softly said before I turned my back on her and started to walk.
“You know what?! Go ahead! Do what you want” and with that, she immediately went inside her car looking so frustrated. She even slammed the door before she started the engine and went away swiftly.
I just let out a big sigh before I continued to slowly walk at the side of the road. I don't know what is going on with me. She is right, yesterday I hugged her, now I am distancing myself from her as if nothing happened.
Maybe it's just that…
I was so shocked yesterday about Sally, and then when Makaria opened the door of the bathroom, my initiative to protect her started, then I hugged her.
I was afraid that Sally might do something to her again. I can't afford to see that, not in my watch. Our poor child in Makaria's womb should not suffer because of the selfishness of that ghost. I won't let that happen.
But now, I feel ashamed of what I did. I shouldn't have hugged her. Now I feel awkward around her. I just came back to reality that I am just a janitor. The only thing that is binding us together is the baby. Yes, I should protect her but… I don't think that it would be fine if I stick with her all the time.
Besides, it's Monday today. I won't be staying with her for the night. I would be home.

“Thanatos? Is that you?!”
And suddenly… I heard a very familiar voice. The voice that I haven't heard for a long time now. Damn it. I am trying to avoid this situation!
I started to move fast not looking back because I knew she was there.
“Hey, hey stop, I know it's you, Thanatos! Because if not, you wouldn't act like that…like you didn't hear me!”
Damn it. Damn it! I don't have a choice. This is it. I can't avoid her now. So I turned around and faced her. She looks a bit annoyed.
“Nemesis…”
“Woah, thank God you still remember me” she smiled at me as if nothing happened to us back then. Doesn’t she remember?
“Yes. Of course” I said seriously because I can't literally shove off and forget about the past about us.
I think she kinda noticed that I feel uncomfortable right now.
“Okay look, I know we had a fight before we just separate our ways and I know you feel awkward because of that but… we need to talk”
“Talk? Do we still have something to… talk about? I left you already” I showed him my confused look. I don't really understand. Why is she acting like that? Shouldn't she be mad at me or something? Vent or rant everything?
“Yes, I know. You left me, but it doesn't mean that I'll stop to be your guardian in this earth” she is really not giving up on me isn't she.
“What do you want to say, then? Look, I am sorry if we ended that way I… I just want to be free”
“And I totally understand! But that's not what I want us to talk about. It's about Makaria”
I was surprised when she mentioned her name. I know she told me to stay away from her and now, I feel like she is going to say that again because maybe she already knew that Makaria and I are staying together BECAUSE MAKARIA'S HOUSE IS NOT THAT FAR FROM HER! DAMN IT.
“M-makaria? What about her?” I nervously asked anticipating her response

“She's not really pregnant”
She's… not pregnant?!?! What the hell is this! Ridiculous.
“What? What kind of nonsense is that Nemesis?”
“She is just pretending to be pregnant” okay this is not happening. What's wrong with her? How come she concluded that kind of thing?!
“Nemesis…stop it”
“I am telling the truth!”
“Really? Or you are just telling me that because you want me to come back to you?” then I quickly grabbed both of her shoulders to shake her a little bit. I wanted her to stop lying!
“No! Hell no! I am telling you the truth I swear! She is not pregnant, nothing happened to the both of you that night when you got drunk, she was just pretending to fool you around!”
It is… getting weirder and weirder. Where does she get those situations that happened to me?
I slowly put down my hands on her shoulders.
“Wait a second… what? Did you say 'that night'? How did you know about all of that?!”
“It… i-it doesn't matter! What I am talking about is that you should leave her!” She looks like she is hiding something. She started to look down and she couldn't stare at my eyes straight.
“What if I said no?”
“She is fooling you! What's the matter with you? Believe me, it is true!”
“If you really want me to believe you, then tell me… how did you know all of those things that happened to me… that happened to us? You are not even around me for a very long time so how?”
“I… I told you it doesn't matter, Thanatos!” she's getting so frustrated about telling me the truth! She can't hide it because it is obvious.
“It matters to me! So tell me. If you don't, then there's nothing for us to talk about”
Then I immediately turned my back to her and started to walk away. But… she held one of my shoulders to stop me.
