Chapter Fifty Four

I slowly came to, my head throbbing with a dull ache. I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me, forcing me back onto the cold, hard ground. I groggily opened my eyes, trying to make sense of my surroundings. I was in a dark, damp cave. The air was musty and dank, and the only light came from a faint glow from the walls. I struggled to my feet, using the rocky walls to steady myself. As I looked around, I saw that Ava was with me. We exchanged worried glances, our minds racing with questions. What had happened? How did we get here? And what did my mother want? I remembered her words: "I'm here to bring you back home." Back home? What did that mean? Was she talking about our world or some other dimension? I spotted a faint light in the distance and stumbled towards it.
