Episode 7

I asked Shiloh to let it go and try to run away. He was big, but Shiloh was bigger, so there was a chance for us to escape. This time she listened to me. She broke free from that male's gaze, and ran away really fast. We ran a lot when finally we lost his scent. I let out a sight behind Shiloh’s mind, and I was really grateful to the Moon Goddess for giving me a huge and strong wolf to keep hidden. After she made sure he wasn’t following us anymore, we returned to the tree where I left my clothes, then we shifted. I quickly went back to my room and got ready for work. I felt a bit better. I was still scared because of the morning, but I tried to focus on the patients, and tried not to think about it. At the end of the day, I was about to go back to my room when Sister Anne stopped me. "Aurora, can you come to my room please?" I nodded, I had no clue what she wanted, but I followed her. After we entered, she closed the door, making sure no one heard us. That was weird. "I have a question and something to tell you, but I want you to be honest with me. You know that I've been next to you since you were a pup. You have to be honest with me." She repeated. I nodded, but inside I felt fear again. I had two things on my mind. One of them was that she'd got to know about Shiloh, or my other thought was, she'd got to know about my feelings towards the Alpha. She looked at me with a serious look. "How do you know what happened to his wolf?" I swallowed. How could I tell her my wolf helped me out? "I don't know Sister, it just came from my senses." "So does it mean you lied to the beta and alpha?" "No, I didn't. I told the truth." She looked at me angered. "If you don't know where it came from, how could you be sure about that? Aurora, are you clear that you are playing with your life?" "Sister, we know I have that gift. I didn't even know how to use it, but I used it well." I could see she swallowed back what she wanted to say. "Aurora, you have experienced the beta's anger already. But what he said he meant that. If you lie you are going to lose your head. You know the rules and disrespect for any other member of the higher castes brings consequences. " "I didn't lie. Sister, why don't you believe me?" "I want to believe you, I just don't want to lose you. " I lowered my head. That was kind of her. I thought that Sister Anne liked me a bit more because of my gift. "If you lose me for that, it means there are no true words left to trust in anymore. " I told her. Not because I was sure, just because I trusted Shiloh. It took a while until I finally heard her speak. "I believe you." I smiled at her. Then she sighed with a smile. "The other thing is, when the Alpha left, he asked me to give his message to you." I lifted my head surprisedly. Did he think about me? "He said if you have a wish you just need to find him, he'll happily fulfill that in exchange." I smiled, but what I really wanted, he wouldn't give me. "Thank you Sister. I'll keep that in mind." She nodded and smiled at me. "I hope you’ll use that offer well. We can always use some new things here. Just keep that in mind. You are free to leave." I nodded, I turned around and left. I knew that she meant I could ask him for something that could improve the hospital, but my mind was really far away from that. I stood at the wall for a while and I was smiling with happiness. He thought about me. I could do something that reminded my Alpha of me. I remember when I was a young student, about 8 years old, a beaten warrior kindly gave me some sweets. That was the best feeling in my life till now. I walked to the hospital to see who I could help, but honestly my mind was far away. My heart ached, but it was filled with happiness at the same time as I imagined his warm brown eyes. The day passed quickly, and I was really tired. I lay in my bed, and couldn't stop thinking about him. I took the drawing from under my pillow. I have had that since I was born. It was a drawing of a wolf. It looked like Shiloh. I imagined his wolf. I thought he and Shiloh would really look good together. “Stop it, Aurora.” “Why? Wouldn’t you be happy to be by his side?” “I would, but we have to wait.” “What do you mean?” “Nothing Aurora, just sleep. I’m tired.” I closed my eyes, but I wasn’t sleepy. “Shiloh.” “Yes.” She answered me with a tired tone. “Do you think we are going to see the Alpha again?” “I'm more than sure we'll see him soon.” “How can you be sure about that?” He remained quiet for a little while, then she let out a sigh.” “He is fighting a lot, so he can get beaten again, and I think after he has experienced that you are the best healer here, probably he’ll ask you to treat him.” “Well, at least in that case, it means he remembers me.” “Yes, but now try to sleep please. I'm really tired.” “Okay Shiloh, good night.” “Good night.” I smiled at her. I thought it really a shame we can’t be physically next to each other at the same time. I loved her fur. It would be so nice to hug her next to me, and fall asleep feeling her warmth.
