Abbey’s POV I’m avoiding him again, other than coming through to the kitchen to eat, I’ve taken to hiding, first in the living room, and then upstairs in our bedroom when he came back through from his office to sit with us. I feel like a damn coward, but every time I’m near him, I seem to lose control of my body. I look down at the sleeping form beside me, my little girl, passed out, her red hair fanning out over the pillow beside me as I sit here pretending to read a book. I re-read the same line for what must be the twentieth time before tossing it onto the bed in exasperation, the near kiss with Lincoln tormenting me.
