Abbey’s POV I stare up at the Navy Seal, my pulse thundering as my skin burns from where he’s touching me. ‘Please’ he whispers hoarsely, silently begging me to trust him, to let him in, but I don’t know if I can. Flashbacks of that night assault me, the room around me fading away, replaced by the long forgotten walls of my past life. There are men everywhere, dressed in tactical gear, guns slung around their torsos, two of which, drag my husband out of the front door as our neighbours watch, unbothered by the thunder storm that is raging around us, a fitting visual to my life right now. The remaining officers, crowding my living room, harshly ordering me to come outside too.
