Chapter Thirty-Two
Swallowing, I stabbed my fork through the asparagus. Happy that it wasn’t mushy, but perfectly steamed. A cell phone rang in the distance, the theme music of Clevania. Kane wasn’t raiding tonight. Despite the fact that I knew he loved the game. I swallowed the asparagus, guilt welling up in the pit of my stomach. I didn’t want to take him away from something that he enjoyed.
“Kane, isn’t tonight your raid night?” I asked.
“It is, I wanted to spend time with you and the servers have been down all weekend.”
“So I’m in luck then.”
“Sarah, no game could keep me from spending time with you.”
My cheeks felt warm and I couldn’t help but smile at his words. He knew how to make me feel like I was the most important person in the world. “Think they’ll get it fixed soon?”
