The tunnel felt endless, and the feeling that something was going to go completely wrong was strong. I could hear Xander just a little in front of us, and I trusted he was doing okay. He was moving fast, but I trusted he was also careful. I finally heard him stop, and then the cracks and snaps of a transformation. When we reached the end of the tunnel, he was already in human form. It was dark, but being shifters we could see more than most.
