I couldn't understand how the fire had gotten so big in such short time. More and more people had come to help, and still we were far from being ready to stop the fire. It was getting hard to see, not only because night had fallen, but because a deep curtain of smoke was covering everything.
I saw my sister moving away, and followed to see what she was doing. We had been working on setting a trench, and it was almost wide enough to contain the fire once it reached it, but still, it could not be enough. I followed my sister to a stream running near us. She went into the water to cool down and I followed. We were both in our wolves forms, but she shifted to human and I followed her lead.
