ZION is currently cleaning in front of Dra. Ko's office, sweeping even though it's already clean. But because he wanted to see if Toni drop by, he pretends to clean. Whilst, Dra. Ko quickly stood in her seat with shock on her face when she received a picture from Toni. "Zion, come inside," Dra. Ko called out at the door. "Huh?" he mumbled but, he followed and go inside. "Sit, sit, Zion," she happily said, and she sat on her desk too. "I-I was just cleaning. I-uh—I wasn't spying and waiting for Toni," he immediately explained himself, denying even without being questioned. She laughed at his nervous facial expression. While his eyebrows creased at her reaction. "Are...you okay, Dra.?" he wondered. "Oh, I'm more than okay, Zion. I'm actually thrilled to know that finally, FINALLY after four months of waiting, she is now PREGNANT!" she merrily screamed. "Yes!!!" she added with throwing her fist on the air. "That's good to know," he commented with a smile on his face too. "So, about the payment, I'm going to transfer it to you now. Just wait a second," she announced, and get her phone to transfer the money into his account just like their deal. "I-Is she going to visit here today?" he inquired, and he shyly looked down. "Okay, done," she recited, and she turned her head to him again but, her face saddened seeing him as she realized something. "Um... Honestly, she's not. She's not going here anymore," she admitted. "B-But, why? Is she not going to have a consultation to you today? I haven't seen her visit here for what... two weeks now," he commented. "About that... she's leaving." "What??? Where to?" he immediately asked. "Abroad. She didn't tell me where. She's just... going away and take her pregnancy journey out of the country. She's... not coming back here anymore," she confessed. For a moment, Zion's world crushed down after knowing that she's leaving without telling him. "Zion? Zion!!!" she called his attention. And, he looked up to her with blank eyes. "Where is she now?" he earnestly asked. "Unfortunately, Zion, her airplane just took off. I'm sorry," she sadly replied. "Why? Why is she leaving?" he furtherly asked. "She said that she wanted to start her new life somewhere else and not here. Actually, she came here the day after what happened to both of you. She was looking for you because she said she wanted to see you. I even gave her your phone number but she said, you were not answering." Hastily, he get his phone to see his call logs the day after they did it. "Is that the 646 327?" he questioned for confirmation. "Yes, that's her number." Then, he remembered that was the day he talked to his workmate at the bathroom and said that a woman is looking for him. He told him about avoiding and ignoring women, and then suddenly, he saw something that quickly passed by the door. Though, he ignored it. "Zion, are you okay?" she queried with concern because she can see that his facial expressions seems in trouble. "She heard me. That was her," he mumbled. "Heard you, what, Zion? What are you saying?" "Shiiiiiiiittttt," he hissed to himself, and he looked straight at her again. "I think she heard me talking to my workmate in the bathroom about ignoring and avoiding her. And how... annoying as hell she is and that I was forced to see her, and that I really don't like...—." He slammed his face with his both palms stressfully after realizing what he did that day. "I'm so stupid," he uttered with regret. "Oh. Now I get it. She had decided to left the country to avoid you just like you said because you told her— without directly telling her that you don't like her and that she's annoying as hell. And that's why she seems off lately. She is trying to avoid you." "Fvck," he hissed, and he quickly dialed her number for assurance. He stood when he heard that it's ringing. He waited for a moment. . . On the other hand, Toni just turned off her data when the announcer said so. "The number you are calling is currently unavailable. Please call again later." Without saying anything, Zion left her office zoning out and brokenhearted. While Dra. Ko looked after him and just seeing him sad, it makes her worry about him too. ——— . . ZIONs That isn't true. S-she didn't leave me. "She's not coming back here anymore." What Dra. Ko said kept echoing in my head. That can't be true. No. No, she did not leave me. But, she's gone already. And, she's not coming back here... anymore. What is this feeling? My heart feels heavy. I looked up to the mirror to see myself, only to see my face full of tears due to a woman who took my heart for the first time and left a scar inside me. I didn't even get to say my true feelings. How stupid can I be? . . . . . . . . . . ———————————————————— 5 YEARS LATER... TONIs "When are you coming back home, Toni? Your Mom just finished her surgery and wants to see you," Dad asked while we are on a videocall. "What surgery did she just take again?" I asked while driving. "She just had her gallbladder removed and her uterus, together with her ovaries. She's so weak right now. We wanted to go there so bad to see our granchildren, but because she's too weak to move, we couldn't. We missed the twins already, sweetheart," Dad said, and he showed Mom who is still lying on the hospital bed. "I just have a question. Why didn't you choose to have her operation here than there in New York? If you have chosen here, then we can visit her without flying all the way there. You know, I have work," I complained, trying to reason out. "You know that your Auntie is here so, we chose here instead of there. We will only be comfortable if we know that your Auntie is around since she's the only doctor we know. And, we trust her," Dad answered. I sighed on their request because I cannot say no. They visited me here all the time just to see the twins but now, when Mom just finished her surgeries, she wanted us to fly there. But, I don't want to go back there. I'm not ready to see him again. And because for sure, we will bump into each other because New York is just a small City. "Fine. But we're just going to stay there for two weeks only. No extensions, okay?" I earnestly stated. "Thank you, my daughter. Thank you so much," Dad merrily mentioned. "Okay, I'm gonna hang up now. Bye. See ya!" And, I ended the call before I stopped by in front of the big gate. On my command, the door opened automatically, and I drove inside my small mansion here in UK. Getting inside the house, I was greeted by screaming that brought smile to my face. "I'm home," I announced. "Mommy!!!" I heard the two different voices hollered from nearby, and they both hugged me once they saw me. Then, my Filipino helper, Nancy who is in her 50s appeared in front of me with smile on her face. "It's already 6 in the evening, you haven't had your dinner, Nancy?" I asked my helper. "They don't want to eat without you, Madame. They said they wanted to wait for you," Nancy told. "I see. They're quite stubborn, aren't they?" I replied, and I gave my twins a little glare. They both just laughed at my face in response. "Yes, they are, Madame," she answered, and she chuckled at kids contagious laugh too. "Let's go eat then. Let's go, let's go," I said, and I pulled them to the dining area. "I'll get the dishes out," Nancy mentioned, and she went to the kitchen. Whilst, I and the kids sat down on the round wooden table. Me, on their middle. The food then has been served, and we all eat joyfully. . . . Later on, I and the twins are laying down the bed. Me, in the middle again while they are both on my sides. "Kaori, Kaile, I have to tell you something," I called them gently, and their eyes were fixed to me as they listen carefully. "Tomorrow, we're gonna pack our bags, okay? Because we're going to New York where your Momita and Papito are. We will stay there for two weeks. Is that okay with you two?" "How about school, Mom?" Kaile asked cutely. "I already excused you to your teacher." "Why Momita and Papito won't visit us here anymore? Why do we have to go there instead?" Kaori confusingly queried. "Well, your Momita just had a surgery so, she's still weak. She cannot travel yet." "Surgery? What is surgery?" Kaile curiously questioned. "Surgery is where the doctor cut your body open to remove a damaged organ. To save your life," I explained. They both gaped because of that. They are really cute. "I'll wake you up two tomorrow morning so, you better sleep now," I announced. "Can you sing, Mommy? Our favorite song," Kaori requested. "Okay," I chuckled. And, I hummed to put them both to sleep. I watched them close their eyes, and slowly, they drifted to sleep. Good night, my lovely twins. Sweet dreams. Then, I planted a gentle kiss on the top of their heads before closing my eyes too. Hopefully, we do not meet him. My heart still has wound. Tomorrow, I must advise Auntie not tell anyone that we're going to visit. To be continued...
