HE'S SICK

DAYLIGHT, five black luxury cars stopped by in front of the mall. The man in black then opened the back seat to welcome their cool boss who let out his one foot first before totally going out. And, Zion stood with his full height, with a blue business attire outfit that he buttoned his coat before walking inside. All employees in line up position greeted him respectfully by bowing their heads as he walk pass by them. In a minute, he reached his office, and he sat down handsomely. "What's my schedule for today, Jerry?" he asked. "Today, President, you have a meeting with Mr. Architect Wilson for expansion of the east wing of this Mall at 9am. Then at 10:30, you have a meeting with the investors that will end until 12pm. And, at 3pm, you have an ocular visit in one of your Mall at Manhattan, New York. That's all, Sir," Jerry announced while looking at his tablet. "Okay. Give me my black coffee first," he said, and he massaged his temple with his eyes close. "You didn't get to sleep again, President?" he asked with worries. "No, I did not," he huskily replied. "Would you like me to book you a massage therapy? Or, perhaps an appointment at the nearby hospital to check your insomia so, they could prescribe a medicine again?" he suggested. "I'm okay, Jerry. I've had this insomia for five years now, there's nothing gonna happen to me. I will survive of not getting enough of sleep so, relax. I'll just take my sleeping pills later. I just need my coffee now, please," he recited with assurance. "Okay, President," he mumbled, and left his office. When Zion heard the door opened and closed, that's the time he opened his eyes to look at the window. *** "I told you already, Zion, you cannot compromise your health. You kept working despite your insomia. Taking sleeping pills every day won't save you. You need a proper sleep. It's not for daily dose," Dra. Ko declared. "I know, Doc. Just prescribe me more because I couldn't really sleep properly." "Maybe you need a psychiatrist to help you deal with your insomia. And, I've been telling you to have a consultation for five years now but still, you are not getting any. You cannot resort to sleeping pills just to get away from your worries in life. If you're not going to do anything about it, you will just black out anywhere. Do you want that to happen?" "Don't worry, I will consult a psychiatrist next month. Just give me more pills for this month," he begged. Dra. Ko sighed in defeat, and he gave him more sleeping pills that he will consume for the next 30 days only. *** He so take out the small container inside his coat, and saw that he only has 3 last pills for this month. "Whatever I do, I cannot forget about her," he whispered under his throat. "I will try to have a consultation with the psychiatrist then," he added, subconsciously. . . —— . . FURTHERMORE, the airplane has landed, Toni and the twins got inside of the blue car. In just a few minutes, they reached her parents house, and they greeted each other warmly. "Oh, my sweet babies! I'm so happy to see you both!" Loren exclaimed, and she opened her arms to welcome her grandchildren. The twins run towards her with delight, and they hugged each other tightly even though, she's still in pain from surgery. "Welcome back home, my daughter," Warren greeted his daughter, and he pulled her for a hug. "Thanks, Dad," Toni answered, and she pursed her lips as she pretend to be happy coming back home again. "Have you eaten?" Warren asked when he pulled away. "Yes, we did. I'm just sleepy, jetlag. I'll change the twins first," she mentioned, and she kissed her mother to the cheeks with a greetings before pulling the twins upstairs. Going upstairs, to her old room, she opened the door and she got surprised seeing her room still the same as before like nothing change. The designs are the same, just like how she left it before. "Come on, go inside. Let's change first before going down again. Or, do you want to sleep first?" she encouraged them while fixing their things. "I want to sleep, Mommy," Kaori said, and she yawned. "Me too, Mommy. I still want to sleep. I couldn't sleep in the airplane because there was an old man who kept snoring like a ship," Kaile replied too, with crumpled face while describing the snoring man in front of them a while ago. "Okay, then, let's sleep," she recited with a smile, and she started dressing them up. . . . —— TONIs I woke up due to knocking sound coming from the door. So, I stood carefully not to be able to wake up the twins, and I opened the door. "Dad," I said while rubbing my eyes. "I've been knocking. Wait. You were sleeping? How about the kids?" Dad said, and he made himself inside just to look for the twins. "They're asleep too, Dad." "I'm sorry for disturbing you. I thought something happened because we've been waiting for you three downstairs." "Sorry, I didn't text you that we all needed a nap from a long flight. We all didn't get a nice sleep on the plane," I reasoned out, and I sat down to the edge of the bed. "I understand, my daughter. Go and sleep more. I'll wake you up later again when it's time for dinner. The kids cannot skip dinner." "Um... Actually, Dad, can you wake me up again before 3 later? I have a meeting." "Sure, sweetheart. Go ahead. I'll leave you now." Dad then closed the door behind him. That's why I love Dad the most than Mom. He's so considerate of me than Mom who keeps pushing me to do things like this, or like that. I was about to go back to the bed when I heard my phone ringing. Seeing that Auntie is calling, I immediately answers it. "Hello, Auntie?" I greeted casually, and I go to the balcony so, the twins won't hear me. "It's true, you're finally back here, my favorite niece!!!" Dra. Ko screamed in the top of her lungs. "Okay, that hurts. Anyways, Auntie, we've already talked. You have to stick with it." "I know, I know. Oh, I'm so happy and you're finally back with the twins. Ay, don't forget to see me, ha, before you come back to UK again." "Why don't you visit here instead, Auntie? I cannot risk going there, you know." "But, I cannot leave my work. It's your fault that you didn't tell me sooner that you're gonna fly here. I would have filed a leave beforehand if I know you're coming back here," Dra. Ko complained. "I told you, Mom was the one who insisted to fly here and not me. If she didn't insist, I wouldn't come back here again. Not with the twins." "You haven't changed one bit, Toni," she laughed in the other line. "Oh, well. I'm just taking precaution." "How about we meet tomorrow there in Manhattan Mall? Let's eat outside with the twins. I would love to see them both, and play with them too," she suggested with excitement in her voice. I didn't reply yet, and just thought of it for a second. We won't meet there for sure, right? I mean, what are the odds of seeing him there? "Wait. Do you know what is he doing now? I mean, his work? Do you still have a connection with him?" I curiously queried so, I know what to avoid during our stay here. "To be honest, Toni, we're still in touch due to our deal. Whenever his younger sister have a check up, we talk. And in every meeting, he's asking me how are you, but of course, I didn't tell him the truth and say that we don't communicate anymore," she replied, and our conversation became serious. I looked down for I felt a slight guilt in me for not talking to him before I left the country five years ago. "How about the twins? Aren't they asking for their father, like what does he look like?" "Actually, Kaile asked me in the parents' event in school one time of where is their dad because he saw a lot of Dads playing with their kids. I froze on his question, and just tell him that he's in heaven already. That made him stop asking me," I sadly mentioned. "You cannot evade the question all the time, Toni. But just to update you since you said that you don't want any information about him five years ago, he's a businessman now. He owns severals buildings here. He's rich now unlike before." "I see. He've changed. I'm happy for him." "On the contrary, he's sick." When I heard that, I cannot help but worry. "He's sick? What is his illness?" I curiously questioned. "He has insomia. He came to consult me five years ago, the day you left. He said he couldn't sleep in night and because we had a deal, I prescribed him sleeping pills to help him. But I already told him to have a consultation with the psychiatrist. He just don't listen to me. He became stubborn unlike before that he used to obey me," Auntie reported. "I see," all I could replied because I don't know what to say. "You know I already told him too that if he continue to drink sleeping pills, he's gonna collapse any time. But he just won't listen to me," she complained about him. Insomia? He had insomia because of me? "Mommy? Mommy?" I heard a small voice from behind. That's Kaori. "Um... Auntie, I gotta go. They're awake. I'll talk to you in some other time. Bye," I immediately said, and I ended the call to tend to my baby. I climbed the bed again to hug Kaori, and she quickly closed her eyes as she go back to sleep. . . . ——— CURRENTLY, Zion just finished his meeting with the investor. The time the door closed, he suddenly felt dizzy so, he sat down to the chair and closed his eyes. In a hurry, Jerry ran towards him when he saw him. "Are you okay, President? Let's get you to the hospital?" Jerry asked with concern. "No, no. I'm alright. Just dizzy," Zion stated, and he opened his eyes. "Water, Sir?" Jerry offered a bottle of water. "Thanks," Zion replied, and he took the water. Then, he fished his phone to dial Dra. Ko's number. "Dra. Ko, good afternoon. I... uh—— can you recommend me to a psychiatrist? I want to have a consultation today," he told. "That's a good decision, Zion. Okay, I'll contact one of our psychiatrist. I'll text you once we set an appointment today," Dra. Ko commented in the other line. "Thank you, Dra.," he mumbled, and he ended the call. And, he looked to Jerry. "Cancel my ocular visit for today, reschedule it tomorrow. I have to go to the doctor for a check up," he demanded, and he stood up. "Noted, Sir." Jerry quickly responded, and he helped his boss by grabbing his arm. To be continued...
