KATRINA'S POV Anger. I told Xander I would go get my car and then pick him up. By the time I returned, the living room was trashed, and Xander was throwing objects around, punching walls in fury. He was about to throw another plate when I quickly closed the distance, using my speed and strength to grab his wrist. His eyes flashed red, his lips pulling back in a snarl, showing his canines before he growled at me, his anger boiling over. Heartache. I prepared for this. It was always the same sequence: Anger. Sadness. Empty. Xander landed a punch to my face before I could react, the blood spilling from my lip as I spit it out. I dodged his next swing, determined not to hurt him. He wasn’t himself right now. I couldn’t hurt him, but I had to restrain him and bring his human side back
