While it bothered me that I had to hurt Aliana like that - she had been my girlfriend for a year - I refused to dwell on it. I hoped that one day she would find her mate and be as happy as I was right then, holding my sweet mate in my arms. Seeing how she had attempted to comfort Aliana, even after she'd hurled unwarranted insults at her, spoke to her big heart and gentle nature. I couldn't believe the Moon Goddess had blessed me with such a rare gem.
Leaning back slightly, I cupped Ana's chin in my hand. "Hey, what do you say we skip the rest of the day and spend some time getting to know each other better?"
Her eyes widened slightly. "Skip school? I've never skipped school before."
I smiled down at her. "Me neither. Ever found your mate before?"
She smiled.
