Matthias’s face grew stern and hard. “Heather was removed from the Fortress.”
I felt a pang of guilt. “Why, because of me?”
“Heather was allowed to stay here as an employee. Her duty was to serve you loyally and faithfully. She was sacked for dereliction of duty.”
I wasn’t sure what to think about that. When Heather had turned on me, it hurt me deeply.
