Thursday morning John was up and ready nearly at the same time Molly was. She could tell he had an anxious energy and wasn't surprised at all when she found out it was because he felt that he needed to get ready for his daughter's visit the next day. Their work day dragged on and afterwards he drove them to the grocery store so that Molly could help him figure out what they would make for dinner and have as snacks for the weekend. She felt a little anxious too, since she had only met Avery once, and knew that John's ex didn't exactly have the greatest opinion of her either.
"Hey babe, I could make homemade pizza. I'll get the dough made today and we can bake it tomorrow night. Avery can even help put on the cheese and stuff." Molly told John.
"That's an awesome idea." He said, and leaned in to whisper in her ear, "But if you call me 'babe' again I'm going to lose it before we get home."
"Maybe we could go out to the lake to wind down then?" She asked innocently.
"Another good idea." He told her, grabbing her hand unashamedly.
They walked around the grocery store and Molly felt a little giddy knowing that people would assume them to be dating since they were walking the aisles together with laced fingers.
"I feel like we're a married couple already." She said while blushing.
"Well, I'm not sure what a happy marriage feels like, so I don't want to disappoint you. Let's not get too carried away here." John said with a cool toned voice.
She let go of his hand and scolded him, sounding a little hurt. "I wasn't trying to get you upset, I just feel so cute walking around getting groceries with you."
"You are cute." He said, checking out her shape as she bent to grab items from a shelf. "And I can't wait to hear you make those cute sounds of yours again."
"Johnny!" She said, looking around to make sure no one was in the aisle with them.
"What's wrong, cutie? I bet there are married couples who still flirt in public." He smirked.
"That's not flirting, that's talking dirty."
John continued to grin at her, but apologized anyway. "Sorry, I think we might be in different fantasies right now."
Molly shot him a playful glare as they figured out the rest of their shopping trip and only let go of each other's hands when they went to pay for their items.
They abandoned their plan to go to the lake that evening since Molly said she wanted to make the dough, explaining that she'd have to be sure the yeast would rise and then have kneading periods. John didn't mind and told her that he would take her again soon. He also told her how he was glad to be home with her since he didn't have to worry about her getting upset with him for being too handsy or saying something less than appropriate in front of people.
He came up behind her as she was mixing ingredients, turning the flour into a dough ball, and cupped her chest. "I won't be able to touch you for three whole days and I'm already craving you."
She remembered how she had bragged about his height to the girls at work and felt herself getting turned on by his towering stance behind her. She turned to face him and he looked down at her like he was ready to go in for a kill.
"I was right, you are a bear." She said to him and he kissed her urgently.
"That first morning that you woke me up from your antics down here I was already wanting to touch you. I imagined pushing you up against this exact counter."
"And then what?" Molly asked, feeling herself heat up.
"And then nothing, we went to the market and I thought I was going nuts when I kissed you later on." He explained.
"Ooh, that was such a good kiss, Johnny. I'm never going to forget the way you grabbed my face." She said while setting her focus onto his lips. "So confident and forceful."
John groaned and exhaled exaggeratedly while looking to the ceiling.
"Are you done here yet? I want to take you to bed already."
Molly laughed at his impatience and pulled out a chair, telling him to sit.
"I already told you, I'm busy prepping this for tomorrow." She started kissing him and lowering herself onto her knees, "But I could help you out for the time being."
He unzipped his pants readily at her suggestion and she was surprised at how big he already was.
"Okay, but I need to do something for you as well. I don't want to be selfish."
Molly started stroking him and licked the tip generously, making him moan and pull her up to her feet again. "This isn't going to be enough." He said.
Molly moaned as well and he started taking off her pants.
"I love how quick you get wet."
She pushed his hand away, straddled him on his chair and took off her shirt.
"Baby, I'm going to c*m quickly so you'd better just sit on me already." He said with a commanding tone.
Molly guided him inside of her and bounced to a pace that she felt comfortable with.
"This is your first time riding a d**k, right? Somehow I'm lucky enough to have it be mine." John managed to say from in-between her boobs.
"Am I doing alright?" She asked while catching her breath.
John fondled her ass, leaned himself back a little and started pounding her from underneath while gritting his teeth intensely. She whimpered and grabbed him everywhere she could run her hands over, feeling like she'd lost control.
"I'm cumming." He growled into her ear as he plunged himself deep inside while holding her down.
Her body reacted to him as she writhed on top of him and she collapsed onto his chest afterwards.
"How am I ever going to make it?" He asked as she began getting off of him.
"Oh I think you'll survive. We'll just have to make up for the lost time somehow." She told him.
"I have a few ideas in mind already." He told her with a quick slap on her butt that made her squeak in surprise.
"f**k, you're incredible." He said. "You just can't be real. I swear I must be in a dream or something. Maybe I'm dying."
Molly just rolled her eyes while picking up her clothing and gave him an amused smile as he continued on.
"If I am in a coma, I hope you're actually my nurse and that you've been jacking me off to keep my blood pressure normal."
She couldn't help but laugh at his irrational fawning.
"Okay crazy, you sound drunk. Maybe some abstinence will do you some good."
John kissed Molly several more times in the evening and asked her to go to bed with him since he would miss her warmth while Avery was staying over. She happily agreed but made him promise that he wouldn't pay any attention to her while his daughter was over. He again told her how perfect he found her and thanked her for being so understanding. By the end of the evening, Molly was starting to get excited for Avery's visit because she would get to see John in a different light, and, get to spend time with people as if they were all family.
The next day passed quickly since most people wanted to rush to the weekend and Molly found herself getting more and more nervous by the minute. John told her to relax, reassuring her that Avery had shown that she liked her, so there was nothing to worry about, despite having his own anxieties that he had expressed the evening before. She reminded herself that Helen already agreed so she didn't have to go through anymore mind games and that John said he wouldn't leave her alone in any situation. Once they got to Helen's house to pick up the little girl, she finally felt a little relief.
"Bye Mommy!" Avery called out as she sprinted out the door.
John hugged her but scolded her for just running out instead of waiting.
"You're so small, what if I hadnt seen you and you fell while I was still driving up? I'd never forgive myself if something happened."
"Yes, Daddy." She said, looking down, obviously sad that she was getting a talking-to when she was just excited to see him.
"Do you have everything you need? Maybe we ought to go in and check with your mom before we leave?" He asked.
"I do have everything but we can go check, I gueeesss. Molly, you come too!" Avery said, grabbing Molly's hand.
"Oh! Sure!" She said, already getting pulled away by the tiny blonde.
Helen met them by the door with a bag that was full of extra clothing and some toys. She told John that there was a movie in there as well, that Avery chose, saying that she hadn't screened it yet, but that the rating was for a general audience and she didn't think it would be a problem. He agreed and they had a reserved chat while Molly kept Avery occupied.
"Molly, do you like Daddy?" She asked.
"Of course I do, I work with him and live with him. I can't imagine not liking someone in that situation. " Molly explained.
The girl scrunched her face and exaggerated her words. "Nooo! I mean do you like like him?"
Molly thought about it and hoped it wasn't a trap set by her mom.
"You know what? I do like-like him. Quite a bit actually. But it's kind of a secret right now... you won't tell anyone will you?"
Avery took a make believe key from her pocket and pretended to lock her lips with it, before nodding and smiling at her.
Molly thanked her and asked why she wanted to know, figuring that Helen might have been bad mouthing her or using her to get more information. The little girl told her in the sweetest way possible that she thought her dad might be lonely and she would really like it if he and Molly were in love.
Avery was beside herself with excitement when she found out they were having pizza. Along with the dough, Molly had also cut up some toppings and made the sauce from scratch. John had been very impressed with how much effort she was putting in for a 6 year old girl, who couldn't tell the difference between a high end pizza and one from the frozen section in the store. Still, they all had fun assembling and then eating it afterwards. Molly and John usually ate their dinners in front of the TV, since that's what he originally told her he did, but with Avery there, they all sat at the table and Molly was moved by how apparent it was to her that John really dedicated to being a good dad.
After he put her to bed, he came downstairs to spend some time with Molly. She was laying in bed, looking at old pictures on her phone. Despite having a great evening and being involved in the fun, she felt a need to look at her past self and wondered if she made the right choice. Part of her missed the city lights and that on Friday nights she would be able to hear music all the way into the old apartment she shared with her ex. There were plenty of times she hated it, but sometimes she missed the ambient sounds and felt lonely. She was just Molly in Lakeway, not the girlfriend to some postulant big shot. She didn't have to worry about her current love life as much as she did with her ex and she felt good with John, but still doubted herself. She hoped the feeling of not being adequate for him would pass soon and thought maybe it was just because she had always been seeking a family dynamic like this, only, she didn't know how to act while being thrown in at the deep end of it all.
John opened the door a crack, noticing the light was still on. He invited himself in and sat on the side of her bed.
"Hey, how are you doing?"
Molly clicked the screen of her phone off and gave John her full attention. He liked that about her, many of the other people he knew, and worked with, were constantly attached to their devices.
"I'm alright. A little weird, but good anyway."
He looked concerned. "Why a little weird?"
"I don't know." She said, "I love seeing you happy with your daughter. She's so awesome. But... I guess I still feel like I'm not worthy."
John took her hand. "Please don't feel like that. Coparenting is hard, being introduced into a family is even harder."
Molly was fighting the feeling of crying and said she didn't have a lot of family anymore and felt like she wasted her entire life with Julien. She told him that in that moment, in a quiet house, she still somehow missed all the constant noise.
John pulled her close to his chest and said that he understood. It worried him a lot but he knew that they had been moving quickly after she had just run away from a career, a long term relationship, and was practically becoming a step parent. He took her chin in his hand, firmly, the way she liked, and kissed her.
"Get some rest. Avery is also an early bird." He got up and asked if she wanted the light switched off.
She nodded and he lingered in the doorway to say,
"I love you, Molly."
She felt her chest get tight with butterflies making acrobatic circles.
"I love you too, Johnny."
"Thank you, sweet dreams." He said and finally left to go back upstairs.
